Naval Action - Santa Ana Funciones

This is a premium consumable ship.

Santa Ana is loosely based on two ships of the Spanish Trafalgar Fleet (Rayo and Sana Ana).

Rayo
Rayo - 80-gun ship of the line, also named San Pedro Apóstol which participated in Trafalgar. Ship (built as a 80 gun vessel) was later upgraded to 100 guns.

Santa Ana
A second rate ship of the line designed by a famous Spanish naval engineer Romero Landa. Santa Ana was launched in 1784 and the first sea trial indicated her almost perfect design - Santa Ana performed surprisingly well in heavy seas. The success of sea trials convinced the Admiralty to order several more ships of her design forming the Santa Ana class who later became the main force of the Spanish Navy. Santa Ana was a flagship in the battle of Trafalgar and after a fierce fight against a British flagship HMS Royal Sovereign was captured by the British Royal Navy and later recaptured back by Spanish ships sent on rescue. The rest of her days were spent in Havana harbor on the Caribbeans.

About premium consumable vessels.
Premium ships cannot be captured by players or traded. You can request this vessel from the admiralty once a day as long as you dont have the same vessel already in your docks. You will be able to request the frame and planking wood type when ordering a ship. Admiralty requests for this ship will be completed instantly. You must have an appropriate rank to sail it fully crewed.

Imported DLC ships are perfect if you just want to jump into action quickly, ignoring hauling of resources, just buy guns, repairs and you are good to go. DLC will appear in your redeemable list after you dock to any port.

Is not the Santa Ana, Is Christian without details and the worst paint they had, fast dlc to easy get 45 dollars, NA devs style

I would recommend NOT TO BUY this DLC. The reason is because it's a exact copy of a previous released ship, the Christian VII. It's literally the same model with a different name and different stern. There are some screenshots around that even show when the Santa Ana sinks, it shows the name as ''Christian2'', which can confirm how devs couldn't care less about that. This is a huge disrespect to NA player base but most of al, to the real flagship that Santa Ana was in the Trafalgar battle. I really hope developers rework this DLC asap, until then don't be stupid enough (like me) to spend those 41€ in a ship you can get for free in game with better builds, port bonus and with more cosmetic paints.

In current state it is the most disappointing DLC that Game-Labs ever released for Naval Action. The model is simply the danish-norwegian Christian VII, which is already in game. They just changed the painting and removed the bow figure. Even if they didn't want to invest much time, it would have been a better illusion to just copy&paste the figure head from the Santissima Trinidad, modify the two top decks a litte bit and make the lower hull some feet bulkier. There are also NO paint jobs available for this fake Santa Ana. For the sailing and gunnery performance, it has more firepower than the Christian VII, but because it is a DLC ship you need lots of luck in claiming a good one - without the usual port bonusses (4x4+x) the ship cann't keep up with a crafted Cristian VII at all. As long as Game-Labs does not add at least the visual improvements I mentioned above, I CAN NOT RECOMMEND THIS DLC. And really, I LOVE this game and would like to support the company as much as possible. But THIS is a scam. And a real disappointment for every fan!

Now I must say this package is kind of a mixed bag. I bought this ship as 2nd rate SoTLs have something of a special place in the old heart for me personally as they remind me of more fun times I have had in other sailing games. -The Good- This is a functionally solid 2nd rate SoTL that you can readily call up at ANY time you need and make it out of any wood type you want just like all DLC ships. This ship has already served me quite well. -The Bad- As many of the negative reviewers have pointed out, this ship is more or less just a carbon copy of the Danish Christian VII already in the game (minus most of the Christian VIIs more beautiful detailing) as opposed to the actual Spanish Santa Anna she was SUPPOSED to be. I myself was able to confirm this by comparing it by flipping through it and a low end Christian VII I was able to buy at auction. -The Ugly- As anyone who has read my revised review for this game knows I have some bad blood with Game Labs. I was permanently banned from the game's steam chat during beta testing following an altercation I had with a troll who kept hijacking my feedback and suggestion threads. (Yes I made a noob error. I fed a troll and paid the price for it. ) Of course Game Labs didn't seem to care too much about the player feedback and suggestions until it hit their bottom line. But I'll give them one final piece of feedback here anyway. They might have done better with this if they had kept most of the Christian VII's details, added a small forward mast, and marketed this DLC ship as the earlier Christian VI (just as they did with their Victory DLC ship) as opposed to trying to market a detail stripped ship as the Spanish Santa Anna, the ship would most likely have been better received.

THIS IS NOT ROMERO LANDA SANTA ANA. DLC SCAM
  • gamedeal user

Joke's on me because clearly I'm a fucking idiot impulse buying this... It's a DANISH ship. Which there's a better one of, already in the game, for free. Which you can craft, with nice port bonuses of better woods. But they added a Spanish stern gallery to it (and made the guns arguably a tiny bit better but indisputably not enough by any measure to offset dogshit port bonuses) and gave it a hype-inducing fake name. If that isn't clear enough:
THIS IS NOT THE SANTA ANA, IT IS A FAKE CASH GRAB.
Stern gallery's pretty though.

I hesitated for a long time before pulling the trigger and buying this thing. I really HATE that this is not the proper Santa Ana, and basically just bought it to break it down every 24hrs. They should really do this ship justice and give it the proper model, not just a carbon copy of the Christian.

Just a Rehashed Christian Really! They should've at least Kept it Historical to the ship it was named and supposedly designed after. Historically the Santa Ana had 112 Guns not 96. This Ship DLC price should be 29.99 to start with and not the $55.00 They are asking for. So it is a complete Rip Off in my Opinion.
