  Final Update: 2022/01/20 It has come to my attention that the dev has no interest in my thoughts on how to make this program user accessible. A few of the negative points I addressed were resolved, which is good, but Clip Studio can't hold a candle to the likes of Daz Studio. Sure Daz studio is daunting with DLC, but this is slowly becoming just as bad, with the minor exception that it's super difficult to get user content into Clip studio. This will be my last review update. I cannot recommend Clip Studio, and will not be returning to it. I would love to be proven wrong in the future, but until I see software reviewers showering Clip Studio with praise, I'm out. TLDR version: 5/10*, Needs vast improvements *: Only with nude/sex DLCs, otherwise 4/10 (It DOES function as a recording studio). - Just wait for me to come back and change my review before you buy this. Get and learn Daz instead. The long read: 1. The UI is horrendous. It desperately needs a quality of life overhaul. It might look alright when you're not trying to make a scene with it, but as soon as you want to actually DO things with this program you very quickly realise just how un-intuitive things are. 2. The lag is gone! I can run scenes at the built in cap of 99fps and my PC only gives off a light whir. It has regained some functionality. 3. Building a scene is STILL pointless. If you take the time to go through all the steps to build your own good looking scene, it's going to take a very long time (Level designers, back me up). Then you save... and the only things that are saved are the positions and the timeline. NONE OF THE PROPS, CHARACTERS, ANIMATIONS, OR ANYTHING ELSE SAVES! You have to go through every single chunk of your timeline, search for what you used, and re-activate all of it piece by piece. What do the Devs expect? For us to power through a 40 hour long design session in one go, leave the program running while we nap, then start working on our actual scene recording... All while praying to the dark gods of computers that updates don't happen, or power doesn't go out. The Dev has indicated she has no intention of fixing the issues. The current save system is fine in her books. Ergo as of this final review Clip Studio is asset flips and model posing. 4. OMG the asset flips! So I bought a few DLCs, and I get it, they're not "expensive per-say" But the pre-made scenes in a lot of the things you can pick from are just ripped whole-hog from Humble Bundle packs, and possibly even Unreal Engine giveaways, with NO MODIFICATION to the sample scenes that come with them. The worst offenders are the Synty packs for sure. I'd almost go so far as to say the depths of "Just copy/paste that free asset we got" goes far enough to break the EULA of said packs. 5. Bad representation of the product. Every video shows the dev clicking effortlessly through all these options to change things, sometimes clicking buttons that don't even exist in the base product, all without mentioning that the buttons they're using are part of DLC packs. Asking the Dev where that button is gets "Watch this video" as a response, and give you a link to their entire library of videos (not the one that tells you that you have to buy the DLC to use those one or 2 buttons). 6. Clothing is fixed. Even though the models are basically all about the same general size and shape (give or take a breast slider) and the clothes seem to be weighted in a way that they LOOK like they could work on any character, THEY DON'T. You get ONE outfit option per character with a shader to change it's color... that's it. You can take the layers of clothes off, and put them back on, but you can't mix and match to at least TRY to make your scene a little different from every other person who uses this product. 7. There is now a boob slider! However boobs only get bigger (No small tiddied girls for me :( )) The inflation looks a bit unnatural, and comedic. 8. Character preview exists now, but the pictures used in the preview don't do the models any justice. They look far better than the previews indicate. The program is not worth your time or investment. Get Daz Studio instead, and spend a few bucks on a couple models, and hunt down the legitimate free Daz download sites. This program is average at best. If you're a lazy Dev who doesn't care that their scenes look exactly the same as anyone else who uses Clip Maker, then this is for you. If you want to make projects that aren't asset flips, find something else. This program went from "So bad I wrote what I spent on it off as a loss and learned Daz instead" to "Yeah, you can try it,at your own risk." It's free now. Get it, try it out. It might work for what you want to do with it. It might not. I still don't plan to use it the way I thought I would when I bought it. There are just better options out there. I will never update this review again.

  Though I'd really like to see this tool become successful and fully support the developer in her providing this particular tool set for cinematic genres, it doesn't yet seem to be the right tool for most users. Pros: Lots of models/ entities available (good incentive or tricky omen?) Cons: This would be perfect if it was easy and intuitive just like most game engines using drag and drop to place on MAP, and MOUSE click to drag=move, click the object for it's properties, but it is not. As you can see from 3.5 hours use, I have attempted to learn and use this, but as others have said, it's too complex. Finding objects on the map, and moving them without a mouse is NO GO! Place one on the project, and they get lost and cannot be seen. Assigning the behavior is also pretty much weirded up. Feels like an asset flip especially when they throw in SEX to Sell it. It's marketed to those over-sexualized humanoids without free will. Nearly any game engine with a cinematics system would likely be easier. Nextly, it causes my 1650 card to run at jet speed like there's a huge draw on the Graphics Card-- is it trying to run BitCoin mining software or something else or is that just a standard Unity thing? I don't think Unity in itself actually behaves that way! As of now, might be okay just for screen grabs, and if they can fix the weirded up bits that are hokey then I'll update the review... So I hope they can update in those departments mentioned.

  This was bloody painful to use. Tried the tutorials. When I see someone other than the creator making tutorials, I'll come back. Big UI thing is, "do this, do that, do x, y, z.... and then click the 'play' button." I get why. I'm sympathetic to what this software is trying to do. However, this is God awful for trying to learn. "Do the thing I don't know what it does, do the thing I don't know what it does, do the other thing I don't know what it does. Hit 'play' and hope it did a thing."

  I got this program because I thought to make scenes easier than most programs where you need a calculator, however here I need a whole 10,000 pages long about how you set things up, I mean the UI or interface is ridiculous, and hard to find things when you need something out of it and the there is this play button because some how it needs it to build everything instead of live actions. I don't gonna say it's a bad program but please make it so we can use the UI better and see what we really do like daz3d does when I load a character it's there and not hitting play all the time. and as of that, I would not recommend this program until it has a better way to use it.

  If you think this software might interest you, it will! I have just started the tutorials and so far the DEV explains how to do things quite well. The idea behind this is great and I hope to make my blog much more interesting by incorporating clips from "Clip Maker". It has been both difficult and surprisingly easy to learn but very rewarding to see an idea come to life! This has the potential to turn into something really special.

  To the Dev. Thank you for making it possible for me to use my models from daz 3d. I have been looking for something for a long time. All I have to do is export my model and load it in the game without the extra effort like unity. I have photo studio and 3d visual naval maker as well. I hope you may have ideas of doing the same for these to games. Thank you for your hard work in this game. Hope to see more gmaes from you soon.

  I would certainly recommend this game to others! The programmer responds to users in a timely way. And I don't mean in a month or two (or three or four...). Also new features are added that expand the game and that is a very good thing. I ask that everyone write and let the programmer know that her efforts are welcomed and that she should be hailed for all her very hard work.

  painfully complicated , not easy to use , still dont know how to animate anything or make videos with it . im asking for a refund . my advice ....dont purchace this until its actually finished and user friendly

  Ok, since I've had more time with the software and its core features It's become incredibly easy to use and with the Developers extremely responsive you really cant beat purchasing this product. You can really do a lot with it and lighting a scene can turn your content into very attractive eye candy. I can only speak for the content that's included in the non 18+ stuff, but what you get in the base product is more than worth it and the developers are constantly adding stuff in and tweaking it here and there. Initially I was very confused, but after checking out the bulk of the Devs Guides on their page you'll find yourself in a short time shooting your own virtual content which is only limited to how much time you(the digital director) are willing to invest in it. I got more out of this then the money I put in.
