Recursos do Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader

Award-winning Black Isle Studios unleashes an epic RPG like no other. In the 12th century, a supernatural catastrophe tore the fabric of reality, unleashing spirits and magic, forever changing medieval Earth. Cast into this world and besieged by spirits and power groups, you must gain allies, take up arms and find your destiny.

To the common folk, magic was something to be feared and undoubtedly the handiwork of evil demons. People across Europe sought protection from the forces of evil and therefore relinquished utter control of their lives to the Inquisition.

To this day, the Inquisition still governs most of civilized Europe, directly or indirectly. In their relentless hunt for heretical wizards and magical creatures the Inquisition inspires awe and faith among many, and is despised and feared by others.

Choose your champion – Feralkin, Sylvant, Demonkin, or Human Pureblood – and align yourself with the Knights Templar, the Inquisition, or the Wielders. Explore 16th century Europe, twisted and changed by magic, and encounter the likes of Leonardo da Vinci and Galileo.

  • An original story set in a warped alternative timeline

  • Meet historical characters such as Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo and Shakespeare

  • One of the greatest, if often overlooked, RPGs of all time

My dad played this when I was very little so it's very nostalgic for me personally. I've always loved the character designs and the way the world was built along with combat and the mobs/bosses in the game. This game seriously has a very special place in my heart

So I first played this game in Middle School. I got it at a garage sale for 25 cents. It was one of the first games I bought. I never beat it. When I saw it on steam during the winter sale, I bought it. The first half of the game is a lot of fun. The characters, magic animations, and quests are all a lot of fun and there's so much to discover. The problem is the second half. The last three hours of game play are just straight combat. And it's not well balanced. There are so many enemies and you end up having to get a few enemies at a time to follow you or you get swamped. And you repeat that hundreds of times until you get to the end. The final boss is another slap to the face because some play styles are simply unviable for fighting the chaos dragon. If you're playing a melee build or a pyromancer, good luck. Moreover, if you're playing a mage, you had better hope you've been stacking up on mana potions the entire game because there aren't any more merchants for the last three hours of game play. It was a rushed game and it shows. The fun interactions and aha moments slowly bleed away until you get through the slog of the final boss and realize, it probably wasn't worth the energy you put in to get there. I still come back every once in a while. It's fun to try and stack all of the quests into the most efficient route and I enjoy the progression of my character through the early and mid game. But the ending is rough and genuinely unpleasant. You can see the vision for the game and how it got caught in the cross hairs of a dying studio rushing to get it out before bankrupcy. But without the nostalgia boost, I wouldn't play this game ever again.

An overall very old school CRPG adventure, very combat heavy so if you don't like this games combat you may want to avoid, Overall if you like these older crpgs then absolutely give this one a go.

It's been one of my absolute favorite games since it released in early 2000s

Game is completely linear without any kind of options, this is not RPG, you do not have any role, you have rail and must kill thousands of mooks to reach "final boss". Developer opinion on "karma" and "good and bad" also quite crazy, absolutely every single "evil" choice is "stupid evil" with various penalties and significantly inferior rewards if any. Also doing some obviously evil things is considered good and vice versa. Internal "fortune" (that is called karma in game's code) value is hidden from UI and you will not know is you going evil or good and ever trying to be good will gives you evil ending (that is not any different from good ending with exception to few chat lines)

The Dark Souls of CRPGs? The game is a TON of fun mixed with a TON of frustration. As others have said, the first "half" (more like the first 1/3 actually) is indeed really fun; kind of a mix of Baldur's Gate and Diablo 1, with a decent degree of customization and build choices (not late-game viable, but that's another point). The other two-thirds of the game... Oof. It's extremely combat-focused. I suppose it COULD be fun if you knew what you're doing (for a veteran player). You're often thrown in 3/4/5-floor dungeons (with a few extra optional "side-floors" in between) which can take a few hours to clear. Most of the time there's no way to go back and sell/clear inventory, or be able to restock on anything AT ALL. Got no health/mana potions and no "mana spirits/orbs" to absorb anywhere else in the map? Have fun waiting 10 mins for mana to regen OR sprint through content to the next floor, which might give you mana spirits/orbs on the first chamber of said floor. One the main original mechanics of the game (original as in, not part of the SPECIAL system), is that most enemies drop "mana spirits/orbs" when they die, regenerating a large portion of your mana, this is by far how you regen 95% of your mana during the whole campaign. On the latter half of the game, there are many enemy types that don't drop those at all. So if you went for a "wizard-like" build you're just screwed, you better squeeze (min-max) absolutely ALL DPS you can from the mana you have because you'll need to get by with very little mana, for a long, long time. The latter half of the game is balanced around the principle of: is your build self-suficient? Can you heal (passively or through spells?) Can you deal damage reliably without relying on mana? If you can't tick those boxes, you're in for a slog of a push to completion. Potions and consumables are completely unreliable to get to count upon for sustaining the player. I'm fairly convinced that new players which do not focus on combat-skills can become completely stuck on several parts of the game, as difficulty starts ramping up at the middle of the campaign and only gets worse as you progress. -- TLDR: It's a troubled, beautiful child. It's worth a buy if you're into Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale/Pillars of Eternity/etc, but go in with the mindset that it's pretty much two games in one. (A short Baldur's Gate 1 DLC and an unbalanced Diablo 1 spin-off).

This game is a bit of a mixed bag. The beginning in Barcelona is a lot of fun, visually appealing (despite aging poorly), decent voice acting and overall fun. There are issues in the start area, mainly talk your way out or fight it out. Many skills are totally irrelevant and the import/export mechanic allows for some rather interesting builds. After finishing France, the studio was running out of money and it shows, the voice acting almost totally disappears and the quests just become a slog through dungeons packed with monsters. It turns from a fun and reasonably light Diabloesqe RPG into a brutal slog that is a major pain in the A** to complete. If it was not for the easily abused import/export mechanic I would have never finished the game. BTW fix the texture bug on Windows 10 devices it's frustrating to see, also some form of multiplayer servers would be greatly appreciated as the game originally had 4 player co-op. EDIT: Buy this game from GOG, it comes with the DLC which is a must if you want to go pyromancer and it doesn't have the texture bug

There are 2 reviews as Turkish and English. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- English; I have been playing this game over 10 years! This game is so special for me, because it was my one of the first rpg game that I have played in my life. It doesn't matter where you buy, steam version and cd version are same. Furthermore, there are some weird stuff like npcs run like a hell, but it is worth playing! The game tells a world that the reality changes forever as the supernatural universe on the 12th century in middle age. Furthermore, we meet Leonardo Da Vinci and Galileo. In my opinion, historically, the game is also enjoyable. Also I found a fix for win 8 8.1 and 10. I uploaded all of files with tutorial. http://www20.zippyshare.com/v/8ovEv4lY/file.html ( 908 KB ) You are welcome :) To sum up, In my opinion, this game worth 8/10.

nice game, some bugs. learning a lot about the New Blue Screen of Death as windows-10 does not play well with others. Started this game fifteen years ago, and this time i am going to finish it. Black Isle shoved it out the door just before their house collapsed into bankruptcy; it's a cold, unfinished, under-capitalised orphan of a game. But it's nice.
