Recursos do Horizon Chase Turbo

Horizon Chase Turbo is a racing game inspired by the great hits of the 80's and 90's: Out Run, Lotus Turbo Challenge, Top Gear (SNES), Rush, among others. Each curve and each lap in Horizon Chase Turbo recreates classic arcade gameplay and offers you unbound speed limits of fun. Full throttle on and enjoy!

Horizon Chase Turbo has Multiplayer Split Screen support across all game modes, to rescue the nostalgia of playing with your best friends sitting on a couch all night long. The hard time is to know who is your best friend because this one is also the one to be beaten.

Horizon Chase Turbo brings back the graphics context of the 16-bit generation and creates a style that is inspired in the past without letting go of its contemporaneity. The apparent polygon and secondary color aesthetic accentuate the visual beauty of the game, resulting in a unique and harmonic atmosphere. You'll feel the retro soul of the game on a completely modern body.

Horizon Chase Turbo is a race around the world. With each new cup, you'll pilot your car through extraordinary places, watching the sun setting, facing rain, snow, volcanic ashes and even severe sandstorms. Be it day or night each track takes place in beautiful postcards from across the world.

Horizon Chase Turbo presents Barry Leitch, the musician behind the soundtracks of classic arcade racing games Lotus Turbo Challenge, Top Gear (SNES) and Rush. As you play the game, you'll be hypnotized by his charming tunes that complement the graphical ecstasy of each horizon.

Horizon Chase Turbo is the new version of the acclaimed and multi-award winning game “Horizon Chase World Tour”, selected as “BEST OF 2015” having a Metacritic of 88. The Steam Edition brings a lot of unseen features and content that enhance the nostalgia of old-school arcade racing games.

11 Hours played as of the time this is written, scored gold on all campaign races, scored all coins from the first five cups. As someone who enjoyed Top Gear from the Super Nintendo: this game feels like a vibrant 3D call-back to that genre of racing. Customization is minimal however very important for anyone trying to complete the campaign in order to unlock cars and modes. Steering / Handling plus Speed are very important stats to increase using Upgrade Races as early as possible in the campaign however it's sometimes best to just score gold and forget the coins with the fastest yet decently steering vehicle when the Iceland Cup is reached. First place / Gold is important as it scores near max amount of points to unlock more of the campaign eventually reaching the Hawaii Cup and therefore all of the Upgrade Races to complete all vehicle upgrades and score all Gold in Hawaii in order to unlock a car that has a good balance of Handling and Speed. Until then there are at least two fast cars after the Greece Cup (score all Gold) that will suffice provided the player is skilled enough to score 2nd / Silver or better in races after the mid sector of the campaign at which point the opponents will be much faster requiring memorization of turns for every course. Scouting a course two times may be needed before a Gold can be scored. For anyone looking for a Need for Speed / modern style of realistic vehicle handling: this game is not for them. Anyone looking for a Top Gear / retro style of unrealistic rail velocity: this game is a challenging entry onto the history of this genre.

My sister and me used to play Lotus Turbo Esprit on Amiga 500 when we were kids. We are now playing this over Steam, 25 years later. Still feel like kids in our 40's 😊
Remember the time when racing wasn't about filling the meter with perfect drifts?
It really feels like these nice old 8-bit racing games, but with modern controllers and other features. I like how they made the perspective right, during turns or uphills/downhills. From the modern gamer's point of view, these things are probably weird and unnecessary, but it's exactly how it was in this era of pseudo-3D racing games. It isn't another NFS clone with retro-style graphics I've seen previously: no stupid trendy things like drifting or tracking the rival's bumper to overtake it. No filling nitro by doing stunts and near misses. It's actually a big relief to not bother with this stuff and just race in a well-made, quality game. The videos and screenshots made a wrong impression of the game. When I watched it on YouTube, I wasn't convinced: cheap plastic graphics, calling it retro just for marketing, but I was wrong. To really understand what this game is you need to play it yourself, there's a free demo to do so. The game is well optimized. I've ran it on Celeron G3900, no discrete GPU. 1080p, max settings, no slowdown. You might say there's no graphics, but there are a lot of games that look potato, but they run very poorly on this kind of garage PCs.

No additional account, no unnecessary launcher, no denuvo, no epic exclusivity, no microtransactions, just a video game as it always should be.

💚💛💙🤍 Difícil mas viciante, um dos melhores jogos brasileiros. O estilo retrô tá estampado nos gráficos coloridos, trilha sonora famosa de tão legal e características como moedas pela pista. Me lembra OutRun e Daytona. Além disso os cenáriossão bem feitos e há vários modos, especialmente a campanha de Ayrton Senna, uma bela homenagem. // Hard but addictive, one of the best Brazilian games. The retro style is clear in the colourful graphics, famously cool music and features like coins through the road. It reminds me of OutRun and Daytona. Besides that, the scenarios are well done and there are several modes, especially Ayrton Senna's campaign, a nice homage. 🏎️ 🏁 🕹️

So, I started gaming again and was thinking “Oooh, car racing games! That used to be fun. I wanna do THAT!”. I found a nice looking game. Lots of real cars, awesome graphics. Expensive stuff. (But on sale). Lets try that. I start it up, ready for some action, but am met by a menu with thousands of options I felt I was lacking a masters degree in theoretical automechanics to understand. Where do I even start? Where can I drive?? OK. Guess it's smart to try practice mode. I couldn’t even get through a simple turn without losing control of this realistic vessel (despite having been driving for 30 years). I quickly gave up, profoundly annoyed, thinking “Well, racing games aren't what they used to be!” Have you felt similar trying to successfully play a modern realistic racing game? Then Horizon Chase Turbo is the game for you! From startup I was caught by engaging retro game style music and easy menus. Everything is intuitive. Easy to learn, and instantly fun. Graphics are simple, but very good. Colorful, easy on the eyes, and you still get a great sense of speed while driving. Although simple, this doesn’t mean the game is not challenging. The selection of tracks is vast. Some you cruise through, others need some practice. There is a nice progression in the World Tour, unlocking tracks, new cars, and upgrades as you win. A large campaign that will give you a lot of playtime no matter how good you are. As of this review I have completed the tour, working on the master tournaments which are tough to win. At least for me. I recently also had the chance to play through the Rookie series with my niece who also loved it. So you can consider this review relevant for 2 completely different demographics If you ARE a master of modern racing games you might find this a little simple and easy. Then again, you might find it refreshing. Like a nice Sunday walk along the route you normally fight hard to get in a good run? This might just be a game for everyone.

I think they Nailed it! They really did!! Of course don’t expect a realistic ‘driving simulator’ here. But in terms of ‘arcade racing’ it is hard to do better! Super easy to dive-in. Colorful and fast-paced. Yet quite difficult. But also very forgiving at the same time! Plus lots of races and content, DLC's, leaderboards, achievements, etc. Don’t think any further: Just go ahead! Floor that gas pedal and enjoy the ride!!!

This game is an absolute joke. Where to begin? It's the AI. IT'S THE AI. <*> The AI are merciless, tailpipe seeking, kamikazes. Except the designated winner AI. They're too busy being impossible to catch up to until the last half of the final lap. <*> The maps are designed by Satan himself. Near 360 degree turns, roads barely narrow enough for one car (while there are a herd of seven jockeying with each other to try and be more in your way), pickups that are impossible to grab without yeeting yourself off the road. <*> Oh, some of the maps are also pitch black. Some of them have lightening strikes too, so there you are squinting at your screen trying to see the road until the game flashbangs you with lightening. All while rain/snow/dust obscure your screen so badly you can barely see your own car. <*> Seriously, the AI is not programmed to try and win the race. The AI is programmed to try and make you lose. <*> In tournaments, each tournament has a predetermined winner who wins every race you don't win. If you have a tie at the end of a tournament? You get second. This means, at the very worst you have to get first place in three races, and no worse than second in a fourth to win the tournament. For the easy ones this is fine, but it makes some of the master tournaments nearly impossible (I still have nightmares of the Iceland map 'Playpen'). <*> The only stats that really matter are acceleration and handling. (The others matter, they just aren't nearly as important). Have fun driving your VW Beetle or OG Mini because it's nigh impossible to win some of the later races with anything else. <*> The AI like to RP as speedbumps. <*> Seriously, the AI will enrage you. Newly appointed diplomats should be required to play this game as training; nothing else will come close to preparing them to respond with zen-like patience and docility to unmitigated malarkey. <*> The physics that apply to you don't apply to the AI. You get rammed from behind by someone popping a nitro? You get shoved into a guard rail. You ram an AI from behind after you pop a nitro? Congrats, you lose all of your momentum and the AI takes off at Mach 3. With that said? I love this game. I don't think I can say that I loved playing it, since I was too busy doing rhythmic breathing exercises, trying not to freak out, after losing a race to some nonsense for the umpteenth time in a row. Actually, playing this game is distinctly unpleasant. Why play it then? Simple. The feeling of satisfaction of winning a race you've been stuck on for HOURS. A race you've come so close to winning a dozen times, except you accidentally clipped a bush made of concrete at the last second. It's like dislodging something irritating that's been stuck between your teeth for hours. Pure ecstasy and ego death. And that last five seconds of a race where you're coming up on first place, with one last hairpin turn to get past and one nitro left, and you nail each and every movement, reacting purely from the brain stem, no time for cognition, to take home the gold. That's what a racing game is all about. And there are other lovely things about the game. There are tons of cars to use, each of which feels different and has it's own uses (with plenty of paint jobs each). The maps and aesthetics are gorgeous. The soundtrack is phenomenal (I bought the soundtrack separately I like it so much). This is clearly a game that a lot of love and attention have been poured into. So I recommend the game, but only to a certain subset of people. If you're the kind of person who gives up on a game when they frequently find themselves saying "Oh that's bull****", I'd give this one a pass. Conversely, if you're the kind of person who frequently finds themselves saying "Oh that's bull****" and digging in to beat it? This is a game for you. (Full disclosure: I am definitively not that kind of person, but for some reason this game brought it out in me.) <*> Seriously, the AI are evil.
