  I can honestly say i cant see a huge improvement graphicaly from using this fs global. I had higher expectations for an addon costing £40 of my hard earn cash.

  I bought this product because I'm a real world private pilote and I use FSX for training during periods where I don't have the time to fly enough. I use real VFR maps to do my flights and while main roads an rivers are quite well depicted, the terrain is very poor, well at least in Europe where I live and fly, Microsoft seems to use very bad data. My experience with FS Global 2010 is that I am now able to recognize the terrain landscape in the areas I'm really flying. It really ads to my training realism. I do recommend this add-on when you want to fly a lot outside north America and you are looking for more realism. I did notice that the difference was not that important in the United States as when I fly in Europe. I do fly mostly Luxembourg, Germany, France, Switzeland and Austria. In mountainous regions, the effect is really obvious. But even in Luxembourg where we only have small hills, it makes a real difference to me. Take into consideration that you will have to download a huge 25 GB of data. While it's no more problem for todays hard drives, it is quite an amount to download. The amount of data is so large because it udates the terrain from the whole world. Would have been nice if one could have been able to select per continent.

  Pros: Drastic improvment to foothills and shape of mountians. Deserts and flatlands are not flat as a pizza anymore; they have subtle elevation change and variety. VFR is better looking Cons: "cliffing" or "plateau" effect on some airports where mesh is not cooperating with FSX. Overall: This add-on brings a deeper immersion to your take offs, landings, and VFR flights, but this immersion is shattered by some janky looking airports. If you can get over this, good buy. Personnally I have been spending more time tinkering to fix this issue (and other FSX issues over the years) than actually flying. I enjoy the add-on but find it hard to look past the airport elevation issue causing the graphical glitch and can't recommend this. Orbx FTX Global Rex 4 i5 2500k Geforce GTX 750Ti 2GB 32GB RAMM

  I finally took the plunge with it being on sale (but still expensive for a FSX add-on). I am not at all disappointed. I can see significant changes in meshes even in the United States (where I usually fly and where FSX already has mesh data). You can use this with the third-party FreeMeshX without conflict. The best part of this add-on is that the meshes are added to your Scenery Library, so you can check and uncheck the meshes as appropriate for better load times or to reduce scenery conflicts.

  I too, took the plunge and bought this yesterday and its everything I had hoped for. I used to limit my flying to just the U.S. as it seemed everywhere else the land mesh was very low res. Much of the FSX experience for me is being able to sight see and explore areas I may never see in person, and with this add-on, that just got a whole lot better. As an example, if you bought the followup product "Flight" and flew around Hawaii amazed at how good it looked, this add-on makes the mesh look as good if not better than that. The only down side is as another reviewer mentioned, the airports are flattened and may appear "plateaued" or even sunken into the terrain. I also noticed this effect with most lakes too. The rougher the terrain, the more pronounced the effect. The glitch also appears to affect the localizer. The localizer's altitude seems to be set at the surrounding terrain accurately and not at where the airstrip surface is. I'm hoping someone can patch a solution because this really is quite an add-on.

  i see no difference on my fsx?! maybe few mountains got updated in america (which is not whole world!!!!!!), but mountain above my home city in europe is exactly the same as default... i got cheated! and i know steam wont return my money...

  An excellent DLC that dramatically improves the default FSX scenery. The impact is immediate, and greatly enhances the whole flight experience. This is a must if you are a serious simmer, and the nice thing is that it does give global coverage - too often DLCs are for a local area only. I purchased FS Global when there was a 50% discount, which added brilliant value for money. Everything installed automatically and I didn't notice any significant drop in performance - a well worth addon.

  SUPERB. For me, this has transformed the low flight game. The ground features and hills have transformed the original flat board landscape into a true-to-life environment. Also bought the HD Airport DLC, which is also excellent (and cheap).
