  Made me and my two friends poop pant. One friend switched nationalities, and the other had to man the whole play through. 10/10 would play for speed runs again.

  I stumbled across this game while searching for something that could really scratch that horror itch, and this game did not disappoint in the slightest. Albeit short, it was a genuinely scary experience that kept me on edge pretty much the whole way through. The atmosphere was oppressing and the scares were in good taste. What the developer(s) were able to accomplish with just a small apartment setting really goes to show that less can sometimes be more. It was also a steal for the price. I look forward to their next game and would recommend this to any fan of horror games.

  This creator is better then triple A horror games. N4ba deserves a nomination for best horror creator , for having the best horror game know to any living organism . If his games where priced at $20 I would gladly be willing to pay for the price. I would go on the corner and sell my buns just to have enough to buy these games INSTANTLY. If i had the option to cure hunger or to play N4ba's games i would with no doubt on my mind starve everyone on earth with no hesitation. N4ba has earned my loyalty causing me to purchase every game that released on release day. Coming from a indie horror game player , this is one if not the only horror game creator im overwhelming stimulated and orgasmiclly excited for a release. If N4ba demanded me ( yes king ) drink a cup full of donkey seminal fluid i would chug it like a African child that hasn't seen water since birth.Thank you for taking your time out ur day to read this honest review because i wasn't trying to be funny.(If u read this N4ba im your number one fan, im 99.99% hetro but im willing to do nsfw active's with you whenever your down.   I'm not even sure how From the Darkness ended up in my library. I was sifting through games looking for something to sate my indie horror hunger when I stumbled across it. Needing something to play, I quickly perused the Steam reviews and saw a bunch of thumbs up and people lauding the game, but I've been there before. Can't tell you how many times I was lead astray by reviews claiming an indie horror is the creepiest thing they've played since sliced bread...or something. My expectations were suitably low as I fired it up. The stock assets didn't have me very hopeful, but with nothing better to do on a lonely Saturday night, I poured myself another glass of wine and forged on...and let me tell you, I'm glad I didn't nope out after the first 5 minutes. There are only a handful of indie devs that truly understand horror, and if From the Darkness is any indication, N4bA has a bright future ahead of him. The premise is pretty simple. You enter an abandoned apartment in search of a family photo album. Much of the game takes place in the same handful of rooms, but unlike other horror titles where you're trapped in an enclosed area with little to do, From the Darkness will continually keep you on your toes with creepy freak outs that are more surreal than cliche. The sound design is phenomenal as well; there are a few points where what you hear is vital to the gameplay, and it's horrifying on an instinctual level. Sometimes what we can't see is WAY scarier than what we can. Could the game have been better? Probably. But From the Darkness is honestly pretty damned good for a short horror experience, and I'm ALL about short indie horrors these day. This is a game that proves creativity trumps presentation. There may not be much of a story here, but does that even matter? Horror is what we feel, and this game creeped me out in all the right ways. $7 for an hour of creepy gameplay may be a bit much, but if you can nab this little gem while on sale, it's totally worth your time. Now, to check out N4bA's other games...I need another horror fix.
