  Forsaken is like playing Quake in a sewer on the Moon. The controls feel like too much at first, but as you learn them you begin weaving, hit-and-running, and strafing along walls with ease. Cramped spots fill with enemies and bullets as the excellent soundtrack pushes you forward. You weave through danger leading shots and dropping mines. Levels open with you picking away at the resistance with your cheap slow-fire blaster, but as you make headway you find crazy energy weapons and chain guns, add-ons and power ups that give you a sense of progress as you begin to shred apart enemies and zip down spiraling tunnels. Forsaken is about diving into the chaos. It is a game about isolation in a purely hostile world. It has a surprising variety of levels and missions, and builds a sort of lore around everything that adds to the ambience. Forsaken is an awesome classic that asks the question, "What if the floor was the ceiling?" and now does so with x16 Antistropic Filtering.

  Well I wish there was a neutral option besides just yes or no on recommending, as I feel that is where this game falls. It is easily worth a sale price, but I would not pay full price as it is. You would also have to like the SP mode, as that is all there is in this version. The MP is dead, and I can't even get people to friend me on steam to play. There are no bots like the original Forsaken I played on N64, and so the replayability is non-existent. There is no split-screen either, and so literally all there is is the SP campaign. I unfortunately tried it, and do not like the SP at all. When I played this game as a kid it was a lot of fun because of the split-screen and bots, and me and a friend use to play it all the time in that mode. So I would recommend this game if you like SP, but I would not if you want any more than that. The developer lied as well, and stated shortly after release of this "remaster" they would patch in split-screen, but never have a year later now. Because the developer lied about this I wont recommend the game.

  I love the game so much. Was playing Forsaken through project 64 and Project X on the pc about 6 months ago then this beauitful recreation came along. Love yah Nightdive, bringing back all the games I know and love. Hopefully you add the pc crosshair since the large one isn't as transparent as it is in the 64 and can be kinda distracting. Love the remaster and now finally can play the online again.

  Back in 1997 or 1998, I loved the original version of this game. But this version is simply unplayable for me because it won't let me configure control. In this version, I can configure buttons but I CANNOT configure axis. This is a fatal problem for me. I hope the developer can add the configuration functionality.

  This game was my first and prefered game for long time, even today I was playing it with the Project X. But the key binding is far from what it was, you don't have the slider toggle, you can't bind slide to the joystick sticks. That Huge "AIM" in the middle is terrible. Could be way better, I won't recommend it if you have played this and wanna play again now, as it is should, at least, be the same basic game, the controller freedon was amazing, now you are very restricted and it was one of the greats thing at the time, a 6x control movment.

  This game originally came out in 1998. In 2021 this game still somehow feels ahead of it's time.

  [b]Really a great remaster of a classic ![/b] I first played Forsaken when i was a kid on nintendo 64 but for some reasons i never managed to finish it lol. Time to repair this mistake and play this cool game again in this definitve version. There's a lot of options to tweak and it plays really nicely with high refresh rate support, custom fov options, etc... Forsaken is a good 6DOF game, far from being as good as Descent but still worth a shot. Highly recommended. Thanks Kaiser, Nightdive Studios and Probe Entertainment.   First of all! Honoured to write among the first reviews, of Forsaken! This game was definitely a permanent marker on my childhood, all those blasters, fights and maneuvers, now in 60+ FPS, motion blur, dynamic resolution scale and many sick features ! Just WOW !! Thank you devs, for reviving this wonder! You guys did an amazing work! Would easily grab a VR mode if possible in the future!!

  its basically Descent. if you havent played Decent go get it on steam and thank me later. Forsaken Remastered is an excellent game, fairly challenging but not too tough, Nightdive studios has done an amazing job on this one, for a game that ran well on the N64 back in the day but felt weird to play with the n64's trident controller now feels amazing with mouse and keyboard, movement is fast and i never feel like im getting dizzy thanks to the games superb job of auto orientation, Forsaken has lots of great weapons and great level design. when you die your weapons and gear drop where you die and you just respawn at a checkpoint and then you just go and pick up your lost items and continue the level from their, a system right out of Descent and i love it. this game is great and runs very well on modern systems, i recommend it for anyone who likes FPS games.

  Great DESCENT game alike (you control small space fighter and blast enemies in underground complex), with enough differences that is still unique enjoyable game. And its hard to!
