The tl;dr right now is that the game lacks polish. The premise of what we have is super fun and the game itself knows where it wants to go, but it's very much an Early Access title. Don't expect something perfect just yet. This game was released out of early access earlier today. For what's currently available, the asking price is a little high. However, the devs have said the game will remain the same price when the game leaves Early Access in around a year's time. As a result of this, I don't really have any complaints around the price. Right now, the game feels very much like, well, a title that just came out of Early Access. Some of the textures are a little blurry, there are some minor typos here and there, and there isn't a whole lot of polish in general. There's not really any custom font being used from what I can tell, which makes the game feel a little bland. The gameplay, as you'd expect from something that still has another year to go in Early Access, is very basic, but more on that later. The UI for the game feels very much like a proof-of-concept. The art is extraordinarily well themed but the layout feels like a mobile game scaled up for desktop. It could use some more polish to feel more finished. But again, this is an Early Access title, so this is purely feedback. There's a lack of voice acting. In the beginning, we're greeted with a fantastically voiced segment that is also lewd, which makes for a good introduction. [strike]However, this is pretty much (so far, anyway) where the voice acting begins and ends. After the initial tutorial, there's not many voiced sections. I hope this changes as the game moves forward.[/strike] There are indeed voiced sections later on, when you get to speak to the other Starlets. Though some of the text doesn't line up and beyond this there doesn't seem to be any more voice acting. This isn't necessarily a bad thing either, as the writing in the game needs some polish. The writing style is great which I'll touch on in a bit, but it needs some grammar and phrasing adjustments. For instance, there are a number of run-on sentences and it can be difficult to tell when a character is speaking and when they are thinking to themselves. Occasionally also, characters don't highlight or have their name above dialogue boxes when they're speaking. The developers have made reference themselves around the story and how it will be expanded upon throughout Early Access. Right now, after the introduction, you're thrown into the world and you aren't really given much explanation around who these other characters are. They all seem to know you though. You get to know them pretty quickly though. I really hope this is expanded upon in future, I'd like to have sequences where I meet characters like Redd for the first time and get to know her. That may sound like a lot of negatives, but I enjoyed what I played so far of this game. Once I'm done with this review I plan to play some more! As mentioned, the voice acting is great. I really hope to see more of it, and have as much of the game voiced as possible. Perhaps with an option to disable it, for those that prefer not having voiced lines? What we have for gameplay is a really solid foundation. You use cards to make a scene, and you can increase your bonds with your colleagues to include them in your scene and increase their fame. It's a very novel idea and I'm really excited to see where the developers go with it. Each character has their own fairly unique flair. The scenes with them are pretty funny and I had more than a few laughs while playing at the absurdity of the monster girls. The whole game is very laid-back, and the lewd animations for the cards are really well animated even if not particularly great fap material. The music is really good, it's catchy while not being overly distracting. The lewd sounds during the game aren't overbearing either, they're very subtle. Overall, the base we have right now with Spooky Starlets is more than acceptable in my opinion. It's funny, it's lewd, and all they need to do really is expand what they already have. I'm excited to see where the game goes.

So I wanted to come back and edit this review a bit later. Would I recommend this game? no. I bought it when it was a beck builder with the other elements attached. (There really wasn't too much going on at that time.) Currently, it has been updated to move away from that. That is the main reason I give it a negative review. It isn't what I bought, but that's a casuality of early access. It happens. I would totally recommend staying away if that is what you are after. But I also give it a negative for another reason: it just isn't fun. The new method of doing shoots is just too random. You get random cards that might go together and make a good shoot or you might get nothing that works well. I found this to just ruin the pace of the game. I feel there is little, maybe even no, skill inviolved and it is just rliant on getting the right cards. This randomness also ruins being able to enjoy the animation that go on during the shoots since you have basically no control over who you will be using. If I'm not mistaken, there is also story elements you can only get from using certain people in successful shoots and not being able to have really any say over who you get, and thus get story with, really hampers your ability to go after the people you want. Heck, I'm a straight dude, but half of my shoots the only named character was a dude. I don't care about his story. I'd rather do the zombie story again or one of the others added since I last played and did all the stories I could at the time. I can't. Only thing I could do was just start a new day, see what my starting hand was like, then force a lose and try again to see if I could get them and I rarely did get them. Got the dude plenty of times. Stuff like that is why I enjoyed the deck building aspects. It added in a few, if barely there, business sim elements and gave me a bit of say in what kind of scenes and characters I got to see which is something I found really lacking here. The main gameplay elements became a tedious thing to sit through to try and get to the story content. That story, and art, is indeed nice, but if that all this is there that's just pics and text. There's no game. The previous version had some game, that I could really get behind, but this I can't. According to the devs, the previous version was hated by the community and it was requested to change back to this current system, which the describe as being like Go Fish or Solitaire, and it just really ruins it for me. I guess I'll end this with saying if you are interested in this game, really chjeck it out. There's a couple of different versions of it out there, some of which are better than others. Just make sure to check the most recent ones to see if this is the type of game for you. Sadly, for me, it is not.

UPDATE 6/26/22 - So apparently the claimed founder of the TinyHat company is friending and begging people to change their negative reviews via chat rather than responding to the reviews publicly. I debated reporting them for malicious activity to Steam but decided to just unfriend and post this instead. I get it, you feel you/your team/your VC elevator pitch/whatever worked hard and deserve credit in the form of money now. As I said in my review, it's not for me. I'm not the only one who feels that way, but there are others who like your game. You should leave it at that. Trying to covertly change reviews is some smarmy shady Chinese seller on eBay/Amazon shit. I did have other games of yours wish listed but I'm going to go ahead and remove those given what happened, including the one that I refunded months ago but re-wishlisted for later. The main issue with your games is they are don't seem to ever been completely finished. Too many irons in the fire, as they say. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Meh. They wisely put the symbols of the cards and which segment you're at on screen in the upper left. I agree with some of the other comments that this is basically a VN with some very light card game in between LOUD 5 frame scenes. I'm probably in the minority of thinking that the game play should have come first (pun intended). - Volume controls only kind of work (all of them individually and master), and volume even when turned to half or less will BLARE randomly, and especially with voice over. - There is no way to exit to the menu, and therefore the game, without tabbing and closing/killing the process. Probably some will love this, but it's just too shallow and boring for me, sorry. Refunded. For context, the best 3 adult games are : Mirror Wish My Cute Fuhrer Why? Because the game play AND the XXX content are good. I loathe Huniepop style shit so at least they didn't do that (or they did and I didn't play long enough to find out).

Was eying this game for a while but oh boy, dissappointment it was. Whole game concept is nice, bit silly, but that's even better - no need to be dead serious. Character design is solid and artwork in general (aside from borrowing few annoying hentai thropes) looks decent, story has it peaks and voice acting is really good (like, REALLY GOOD - probably the best thing in the game overall). But... There is barely any game in there. You play one simple (VERY SIMPLE) cardgame one after another, without much variety, to unlock another stage of story, but don't feel any power over it. You have no choice of the path you go, you have no choice over what you are saying in cutscenes, ba - you don't even have a name or avatar. It's visual novel but you are literally No-One without any properties. Moreover, as card game is repetetive, and you have no control over story, you loose interest in unlocking next chapters quite fast. Not to mention writing itself is... well, disputable. You can feel it was aiming to be in the same titty-witty league as "Monster Prom", but while MP felt bit edgy, crazy and witty at the same time, SS tried to amp it up and totaly jumped the shark. And the proof reading? Was there any? English is not my native language, true, but it's been long time since the last time I've read someting and went "... does that even makes sense?" And you can't exit using Esc button? Are we really in 2022? Go play "Monster Prom". You won't get any hardcore stuff, but you definitely get better game.

To me a "fangjob" is too terrifying to be erotic and so I dont really dig the monster theme -- but I will give it credit for an attempt at creativity and the girls' respective personalities are awesome ("its like being edged while in a coffin" sexiest line ever). Some sex scenes are very creative! All in all 9/10 so far: this is extremely well-produced and not overly-tedious like most H content. The voice acting is outstanding -- bravo to these brave (and sexy!) women! Suggestions: 1) skip encounters weve seen 2) ability to remove cards; hands become unplayable after a certain point 3) music mute or slider 4) improve and vary the male human models -- a purple blob is, well, just bad. 5) some interaction with the agent or filmmaker would be a plus. 6) my deck exploded and became unplayable (all starters/action/finishers vanished) several times, dont know if intended as money sink or not but either way should clarify. 7) the suggestion of implants should be carried through!

This game needs some MASSIVE Quality of Life updates, Visual polish and a story longer than ~30 minutes -Not being able to access the menu from every screen even if it's just using ESC key -No restart p*rn casting in the case of an unplayable hand -No "You" in dialogue, only other characters get a name in the text box -You're basically nobody after the intro/tutorial -Scenes vary in resolution, some look fine others you can count the pixels in the scene - Art quality is inconsistent, Art style is nice -Very little variety of 'cards' at the time of this review - 8 Cards + 4 variations (12 total cards) -The 'VN' portion (with voice acting) is WAY better than the main game-play loop -This is really the only shining positive in the game currently -Edit: No affinity system with the Starlets or dialogue options of any kind -Gameplay and Story is linear, so linear that starlets who haven't even been introduced to you are available to use as cards before any VN/VA The main gameplay loop consists of a deck of cards to cast a porn film, which ultimately just serves as a roadblock to the VN/VA where the actual effort of the game looks to have taken place. You follow the inside story-life with the starlets and their partners but you as the MC get chumped, zero action with the starlets, zero physical appearance, you don't even get a 'You' in the dialogue to indicate YOU are speaking in the VN. The card art itself is simple sketches of these poses you have to match up in either suit or in production value, which the ART on the CARDS look BETTER than the animations for the casting itself. It's kind of weird watching the startlets act out the cards with zero or passive expression and are literally just stick figures boning each other that even the 'c*m" animation just blasts through the actors despite the cards depicting otherwise. I checked this game out years ago on Patreon and decided to take a gamble and try it out on steam despite the lukewarm reviews. Save yourself $10 and go buy Mirror or Huney Pop or even some f2p nutaku games, which is a shame because the voice acting and vn portion of the game is worth $10 other than the game imho is just card gameplay literal filler and ZERO MC presence other than braindead dragging cards onto the screen either by suit/color or value to the point that it takes 10seconds to complete the challenge unless you draw a hand you can't play any of the cards. Completed the entire game in under 30 minutes, Messed around in the infinite casting mode and rewatched some of the VN - Didn't level the starlets I had zero interest in, actually casted 'background' characters instead. Just my opinion though, but it's a negative one. TLDR- All the effort is in the Visual Novel aspect of the game, Great Voice acting - Boring gameplay Seems all the years on Patreon was casting Voice actors than making the game enjoyable to play. P.S. Ignore my bad formatting, just wrote the review as it came to mind.

In early access this was clearly a much more ambitious game, with a deckbuilding system and a map to explore. The 1.0 release is a very light, almost completely RNG-based card minigame wrapped around a few indifferently-drawn H-scenes. I can only assume the developers ran out of money or interest and decided to cut their losses partway through development. Very disappointing. Would not recommend unless you're just super duper into the art style.

It's a nice idea, but it comes off as half-baked and not quite worthwhile. -The good: -Great voice acting (some lines not voiced though) -Nice art style -Good premise-porn producer in monster world, play cards to make skin flicks. -Attractive and engaging characters (MOSTLY) -The bad: -All of the sex scenes are just looping 2 second animations with text overlaid -The cardgame is poorly done - picking what your goal is before even seeing your hand, goals often unattainable purely due to RNG, animations DURING cardgame are very basic and often not sexy at all. Really, if there was just a little more ACTUAL sexiness here, or if the cardgame aspect was worth a tin shit, or if there was just a little bit more to it, then this would probably be worthwhile. But it's not very sexy, it's not very entertaining, and it just feels like a waste of time. Shame though, 'cause it IS a good IDEA. Just not a good smut game.
