About the Game

WELCOME TO THE FUTURE

The year is 2084. The future has turned out much darker than anyone could imagine. First, there was the Nanophage. A digital plague that killed thousands upon thousands of those who chose to augment their minds and bodies.

Then came the War, leaving both the West and the East decimated and shattered. With no one left to seize power, corporations took over and forged their own crooked empires.

You are a tool of corporate oppression. Feared and despised, you hack into the darkest corners of your suspects’ minds. You creep into their dreams, expose their fears, and extract whatever your investigation may require.

You are an Observer.

BECOME A NEURAL DETECTIVE

You play as Daniel Lazarski, an elite investigator of the future portrayed by late cyberpunk icon Rutger Hauer. As an Observer, you hack into the minds of suspects to extract clues and evidence. Anything they felt, thought, or remembered can and will be used to solve your case.

EAT THEIR DREAMS

Using a device known as the Dream Eater, hack into the minds of the dead and dying to relive their final moments, to explore their fears and obsessions. Delve into these twisted neural mazes and search for clues that will help you find the elusive killer. But beware: the deeper you go, the greater the risk of losing your own sanity.

TAKE IN THE ATMOSPHERE OF 2084

Enter a world ravaged by war and cyber-plague, where life is cheap and hope is scarce. Where most people will do anything to escape their grim existence. Virtual realities, mind-altering drugs, neural implants - pick your poison and drift away into a blissful oblivion. But remember, no matter how deep you go, you can never hide from an Observer.

Veteran Observers can dive deeper into this dystopian reality thanks to three brand-new side cases to solve. “Errant Signal”, “Her Fearful Symmetry” and “It Runs in the Family” add another layer of depth to the game’s story while exploring thought-provoking themes of a future that soon might become our present.

On top of that, System Redux offers expanded gameplay, which includes new game mechanics, new secrets to find, redesigned stealth, additional neural interrogations, and quality-of-life improvements made with the help of the Observer community.

Newcomers get the chance to experience one of the most thrilling cyberpunk stories in all its next-gen glory: boasting 4K resolution, upgraded textures, new animations, models and effects, and transformed with jaw-dropping Ray-Tracing and HDR lighting.

I'm not sure if I can find the words to describe how amazing and incredible this game is. Apart from being technically incredible and flawless, from an artistic point this game is kind of a masterpiece of the Cyberpunk Genre. ALL the art design is absolutely incredible and unique. It's tackling deep, complex and serious issues, in a fully adult tone. So you're investigating a series of murders in an apartment building, looking for clues and most of all you'll be linking to the victims brain chips, in a sort of VR experience of the victims' persona, memories, traumas and most of all their last moments before getting killed. But what spices things up is that your own traumas might sift in those VR memories, but maybe also in the real world... Anyway I have now immense admiration for Bloober Team because this game clearly comes from the guts and minds of those developers. It's in my opinion just as major as the Deus Ex games. And I really really hope that one day Bloober could come back to the world of Observer and make an even more ambitious game. Because with their talent and the amazingly credible world they've created here, if they could make an immersive sim game I would just throw my money at the screen !

This game is a hidden gem. There are occasional bugs and frame drops but the game play holds up that I'm willing to look past them. Graphics and soundtrack are incredible. Recommended!

Being an absolute must-play for every connoisseur of the cyberpunk genre, it's also one of the finest walking sims out there. Trippy, smart, sometimes funny and always dark. Includes a stellar performance from the legendary Rutger Hauer as the cherry on top.

Someone told me this game was the underrated indie cyberpunk game of the year that got sidelined by, you guessed it, Cyberpunk 2077. So I got into it, expecting a philosophical game about a cyberpunk dystopia, similar to Blade Runner. Instead I got a psychological thriller that takes place in a shitty neighborhood of the future. Instead of a fun cyberpunk experience, this game gave me a headache, motion sickness, epilepsy, fear of the future, fear of tech, fear of cyberwerewolves and probably a reason to have nightmares today, all while staying true to the roots of the cyberpunk genre. In case you haven't noticed, yes, I'm talking about the good parts. The art direction in this game is incredible and more creative than I could ever expect. It's definitely the best I've ever seen in a horror game, and might be one of the best in general. You can experience the story of an Observer who winds up in a ghetto apartment complex where every single room is either filled with a different kind of psycho and try to solve a case of an inhumane serial killer. It's the slowest game I have ever played, yet the lack of distinctive chapters, parts, objectives or any loading screens made it hard to quit the game at any point. Without realizing it, I spent 5 hours in the game in one sitting. Which is good, but then again, it also did give me a serious headache. Which brings us to the last point, that is something about this game that truly did not appeal to me. While being the most creative dream sequences you can ever experience (they even include puzzles of different kinds when you least expect it) the excruciating nature, the sheer length, and the overall psychodelic effect of them makes it hard to get through on all points. I even thought of quitting the game entirely at 3 different points of those sequences. Considering I spent 5 hours of my night on this game while simultaneously thinking of ragequitting on several occasions, it feels like that's an amazing contrast. Thankfully the building was filled with different type of mysteries that made me want to stay and explore them further until I got to the bottom of some stuff. Seriously, side quests were the saver of this game for me. Bottom line: I know they provide lots of context for the story but I wish there was an option to shorten the Observing sequences that didn't include the puzzles or the dialogues. Other than that, it's an amazing game. Give it a try if you like cyberpunk dystopias and horror-mystery games. It's not everyday you see a game that's ballsy enough to explore all the horrors a cyber future can hold in small-scale environment.

A disturbing walking simulator with 5% of "hide from the monster" sections, which were more tedious than scary. Stunning visuals, Amazing voice acting, Above average story, Great setting, Decent Music, crappy bittersweet endings. Recommended if you like walking sims and cyberpunk setting. 8/10.

Güya Blade Runner'a öykünmüşler, fakat onun sade ama derin anlatımı hiç yok. Çok da güzel açılıyor oyun aslında, ''In the memory of Rutger Hauer'' falan diye girince direkt kalbimi çaldı zaten. O arabanın içinde bulunmak falan. Ama çok çabuk sapıttı. Bir sürü (dijital) asit kafası görüntüler, cızırtılı bağırtılı kötü ses tasarımları, anlamsız bir sürü işe bir girdi çıkmadı. Ucuz jumpscareler falan var bir de. Bravo.

I do hope Steam has a neutral button or something. I really want to love this game, and I do love its world building, its lore, and of course, Rutger Hauer's performance as Detective Lazarski. The first few hours into the game were quite good and immersive, but the gameplay soon became dreadful and boring, plus the bugs that deeply affected the experience. Still, I do think it will be okay for players who love this genre and have more patience than I did.

This is effectively two games. Half the time, it is a deep cyberpunk noir story, where you as a detective use your implants to collect clues and solve a murder inside a small but extremely detailed and complex location. The other half, it is a very bad horror game. When you will stop playing detective and start playing itch.io quality horror is a complete surprise, and sadly the former takes up less and less of the game as the story progresses. I deeply wished I lived in the timeline where the devs picked a lane and stayed in it instead of trying to force a particularly bad version of their usual horror game formula into an otherwise fantastic game concept. The parts that aren't trying to be scary are so great that I'd suggest playing this anyways, but be sure to get it on sale, and expect a lot of your time to be wasted with redundant, poorly stylized and painful-to-look-at imagery that conveys information you already were told through the far better investigative side of the story.

I played in Observer before but not Redux, I started played in Redux version, and it's graphic, new quests that's amazing, i appreciate Bloober Team because they did Observer Redux great, and honouring the memory of a great man Rutger Hauer. I never saw Cyberpunk like horror and this game unique for me. Furthermore, I can recommend this game. :D

It has an OK cyberpunk atmosphere, though I don't know why a slum would have holographic walls (which are of course glitched and broken). Kind of a weird aesthetic. But then I got to the first main stealth section, and it was so bad, I uninstalled the game and haven't looked back.
