Be the next Grand Champion and save the world! From Oliver Joice, you could only expect a game for the fans so just enjoy the game and the fantastic new journey that awaits you Gladiator. [h1]General Gameplay[/h1] The prime activity as a Gladiator will be - you guessed it – to defeat other Gladiators from one place to the other in the different arenas around the world map of Brandor If that sounds boring, you couldn’t be more wrong. Create your Gladiator and then show who is the boss. Not only that but you will get a chance to defeat the Regional Champions of each arena and the Grand Champions. You will progressively unlock, skills and encounter other fellow friends that will help you get stronger as the dangers and hindrances become consequently more complex. Choose your skill points and stats points wisely and manage your gold. Buy weapons and armors in the shops with a random chance to appear gear like in Diablo or S&S 3 with different stats and buff bonuses that will benefit your gladiator. [h1]Combat System[/h1] You start a weak but you gradually grow more powerfull! The combat is refreshing and yet plays simple like the other games in the S&S franchise. Definitely requires more tactical thinking than the previous S&S games with the stress meter mechanic and climate effects and traits for specific races. Different from the other games, this installement when you loose a fight the only penalty for it is a day wasted and some gold lost, which it’s not bad but can make a difference in the future. [h1]Multiplayer Component[/h1] Not available at the moment.

    ive only played multiplayer and gotta say id recommend this game if it werent for archers being the most OP class ive ever seen kinda ruins the game in the PvP aspect sure single players ight but either way the toxic archers ruined it Edit: developer made me feel bad lmao

    played sword and sandals 1,2 as a child was extremely surprised to see that the developer is still releasing new games and keeps them updated. i love this game. very relaxing and many gameplay builds. 9/10. what I consider that would be a great chance would be an updated system of sparing/slaying as it has pretty much no significant impact, and you have to stick to 1 choice for the rest of the game.

    Excuse me the language. I'm just frustrated and I don't feel like I can elaborate this differently, to emphasize this game' issues. Not enough ways to build up accuracy(Attack & Vitality) as opposed to defenses(Defense chance to miss). 1% hit chance enemies(The second boss for example - It's absurd. There should be a BARE MINIMUM HIT CHANCE that is at least like 33%. Not dropping low to 1% ridicolousness like this. 140 Defense SaS2 enemies flashbacks, but at last in there options to mitigate that were available, here it doesn't matter, special skill or spell.) But again, 1% hit chance. Is this serious?! Enemies hit like a truck even when their stats are not invested into strength, and they only wield 1 weapon, which isn't even enchanted. For real? Too many layers of defenses. If an attack fails(accuracy is hard to come by, again), then enemies either parry, dodge or block the attack, which makes the whole hit chance system unintuitive, and even worse than it already is. Takes a miracle to activate battle trance. It gets stuck on like 99/100 for the player character as if intentional from the developer, and doesn't want to activate even though the enemy is being hit 3 consecutive times in a row(I literally feel like the game is trolling me, and intentionally doesn't let me enter it). On the other hand enemies can obtain it easily after merely 4 hits done. Not to mention all the enemies who always have 1-10 points of armor remaining, opposed to easily devastating your entire worth of it. Also, again: I miss the old SaS where armor actually did matter as a stat and couldn't be actually bypassed left and right, but perhaps once a year. 3rd boss - Disables your character from doing anything for 3 turns. Real? 3 turns? That's way too much early game. I'd suggest 1 turn, 2 is already crazy, but 3 is beyond ridicolous. Co-op boss fights are bs. The enemy boss' ally is stronger than the boss' himself. Example: I trashed Mcłowicz with my main character, and then the boss' ally basically solo'ed both my main character and my ally, because he's been hitting for 200+, was parry-spamming when attempted to be hit with 66% hit chance normal attack(too many defensive layers issue again, it's absurd, like I said) and then was healing himself on top. Perfect example of showcase that even if you build up your character properly, one that can trash a x2.5 Boss, there comes some random dude that basically can't even get hit once on freaking 66% hit chance due to parry spam, and hits x3 the damage of the boss, and heals himself 3 times as much than the boss can on top of that. lol Anyways, miss the times when healing options weren't free given left and right, but were actually luxurious. In this game I can't even tell how tanky an enemy is in reality. Even if there's one, that should not fucking be the case. For real, healing should be something luxurious, and 90% of enemies the player meets should not even have it, so that the enemy strength can be as much as possible evaluated simply from looking at the enemy' health, armor and your hit chance against him. That did infact work on SaS1, SaS2, SaS3 and was fantastic. Currently practically every enemy is a gamble, which is why the game feels dogsh*t. Being unable to enchant items with stats severely lowers itemization compared to oldscool SaS3. It's either enchanted weapons, or weapons with base attributes or skill tree skills. To choose between one or the other without being able to combo is boring Imo. As much as I love SaS, it keeps getting more frustrating to try out the new games over the years. I miss the times when it was simple, like, there were no 7 difficulty levels for example, and game was perfectly fun as it goes, like Swords and Sandals 2 that is. Today I'm concerned with how to make the game as most enjoyable as possible, and I don't really want to waste 10 hours per each difficulty setting just to find the perfect one, between not way too easy, and not too copium. Also the 300 days system is a joke. The oldschool tournament system was much better, as the player could at least evaluate the current tournament boss difficulty range based on the level of the tournament. Right now I have no idea to begin with. Am I going to fight a level 50, 75, 85, 100 final boss or what? There's zero hints on how much ready should you be. I wish there was something in the game that would tell you how strong is your character at the given moment compared to the final threat, which will be thrown at you. That all being said, the games used to be more easily intuitive back in the days. Nowadays I can't tell shit of my character' accurracy strength if there's 3 more defensive rng rolls behind landing a succesfull hit(Parry, dodge, block). You think it's 66%, in reality feels like 15%. Worrying about this one aspect alone makes me not want to even engage with other character stats, not even to try a mage or an archer, which I always wanted to, especially the latter. I miss the times when Attack stat was something you simply needed to have ofc, like 60% of your character worth, but at least it wasn't a 90% investment, which literally does not pay off. This series used to be dynamic action and offense was always better over defense, currently it's possible to make such a tank you'll practically never get hit, but also will never hit the enemy, which makes the whole exerience being of impossible length. Oh look, another invalid strategy. Can't play around defense stat, if the Attack/Vitality stat doesn't pay off even after you dump 95% of your skill points into that. Where's the roleplay aspect?

    This game reminded me of my childhood when I would play Swords & Sandals from various internet sites and having fun with friends together. This game had come from long years of experience out of developer Oliver who kept continuing what he has promised to do, a badge of perseverance. Now it's amazing to see my childhood game come this far evolved but still preserving its soul, manifesting itself in this game. Really nothing not to like here. Strategical turn based action, makes you use your brain while having hilarious moments. If you've never seen a Swords & Sandals game before, go in blind and have fun yourself. Totally worth it.
