This Game is Killing it Setting: You'll probably know the story of Lucius if you consider to buy this demake version. But anyways you get born on a stormy day on the 6th of June 1966 as the son of Satan and you have to kill literally everyone who lives or works in your family home. Content: The game contains 18 chapters in which you have to solve some not that hard riddles and finally kill the people by manipulating objects, controlling minds, or just kill them with fire. There are also some "sidequests" which allow you to unlock items that will give you hints every chapter. It took me about 3-4 hours to complete the game. Gameplay: Movement is achieved through the arrow keys instead of using the standard wasd-controlls which is no problem at all because a mouse is not needed for playing the game. One can access the special abilities with the keys from 1 to 5, Q for the diary, W for mounting the tricycle, E for the inventory, TAB for switching through targets and F for the flashlight. These controlls seem pretty inconvenient which they are in the beginning but you will figure this out quite fast. If you wish you can also use a gamepad (I noticed that after my first playthrough...) which makes it way more convenient to play. Athmosphere: The C64 artstyle and the 8-bit soundtrack (actually I am not sure if it's 8-bit) harmonize well together and makes the game very enjoyable. Performance: The game's system requirements are that low that everyone expect it to run well which it did for me. I did not experience any crashes or bugs. Recommendation: I desperately recommend the game for those who:

like the C64 artstyle
like old-school soundtracks
like psycho stories
played the original game
(I am sorry for grammatical and orthographical mistakes. English is not my native language.)

This demake looks, plays, and controls better than the original game. It actually made me enjoy the original game more than I would have otherwise (I completed the Demake before playing the original game).
Lucius: Demake
Recommended for those are into pixelated graphic, horror adventure and unusual story. TL;DR version

[th]Items (Alphabetically)[/th] [th]Score (1-3/3)[/th]

Control and Gameplay 2/3

Fun Factor 3/3

Graphic 3/3

Replayability Value 1/3

Sound 2/3

Story 3/3

Value for Full Price 2/3

LONG VERSION 1. Control and Gameplay : the controls are easy to adapt with, you could use both keyboard and joystick. Need rebinding for playstation one joystick type (I use this one). The moving speed is either average or very quick
(only ]if you are riding the tricycle)
. Simple shortcut easy to remember with. Warning there is might be a bug on gameplay but worry not auto-save and save/load system ready to back you up. But aside from incoming bugs, I think there is no lags or anything prevents you from enjoying the game. Note: developer puts system for you to report bugs and reply quickly and it does matter for me. Thanks! 2. Fun Factor : cute pixelated graphic and catchy old school tunes might remind you of older, nostalgic games in 1990 era. The story which puts us to be the literally evil protagonist is also unique.
Actually I am excited on how Lucius will kill the next person and I literally wait for the dying, pixelated graphic and horror tunes. I really wish the killing way is up to the players not how Lucius wants it to be done, but again it's story-driven so it's best this way
. 3. Graphic : need to say more that I love pixelated graphic?? Not the best pixelated image though (yeah of course, they want it to look 'old', because they already have the 3d epic one), but still cute. Sometimes that makes me confused on who is who because it presented in the simplest way, and I think it's hard to could really tell who is the main character or side ones.
I did not aware of Nancy being Lucius' Mom, I thought she was a maid instead
. 4. Replayability Value : too bad there is no replayability value for me, because there is only one ending and almost all things are linear. Unless you replay to get the missed achievements or simply to wander around the manor. 5. Sound : catchy 8bit tunes. You will get used to the "I'm gonna kill you~" theme tune, believe me. No voice acting (duh) but some items produce sounds (like the tricycle or camera). 6. Story : evil son who just learn the art of next level pranks and the joy of bloodshed. Can't say more, real parenting done great. You say Lucius is bad? Nah, he is a very obedient kid.
Well killing own Mother is kinda cruel yes, but what he has done to Charles I think it's cool
. 7. Value for Full Price : to support the great developers out there, why not? But yaay I get it when it was on sale. Friendly reminder: very short game
(I finished it with 100% achievement in around 3 hours)
. BUT it worth every minute I spend into. I just wished it last longer. Thank you for reading!

If you've already played the original Lucius you may be wondering why you would want to play it over again with horrible graphics. But if you're like me and never played through the original games, then Lucius Demake is an amazing satanic puzzle game with great music, atmosphere, and a huge house full of people who's lives are shorter than they know. I'll admit I had to look up a couple parts online, and the "boss battles" took me a few tries, but overal Lucius Demake is a great game that I highly reccomend if you want to bring out your darker side.

Lucius Demake is a re-imagining of the first Lucius games, now being inspired by the Commodore 64 era games. Story: You play as Lucius. Born on June 6th 1966, he is seemingly a normal child, but on his 6th birthday he has a visit from his true father, who explains his true calling and a plan he has in store for you goes into effect. The story of Lucius Demake is identical to the original game and nothing is changed. The story overall is decent and it has some really cool moments, but overall it's nothing incredibly special. The story is still slightly disjointed, but it has it's moments, especially once the detective gets involved. Graphics: The 3D environments of Lucius have been traded with the simplistic 2D sprites. It's of course not going to be as detailed as the original, but I think the art style is quite charming in it's own right. It translates well from the original and it looks cool in it's own right. In the original version of the game, the mansion often had many rooms look really similar to one another making navigation much harder. I found the mansion look a bit more distinct, making navigation much easier than in the original, but overall it's very faithful recreation. Audio: I'm not a fan of the audio design and I do get that it's inspired by the Commodore 64 days, but I still found most of it incredibly annoying. Most of the music feels like droning noises and the sound effects are insanely loud. I finished the game in two sessions and by the end of each, I felt like I had a massive headache. Gameplay: Lucius Demake is an identical game to the original and even the gameplay is pretty much the same. You have to collect items and figure out how they will help you kill your target on that specific day. Every puzzle, item location has been re-used from the original game, so if you played the original one, you will know where to go and what to do. After your 6th birthday every so often you will have a target that you will have to kill and you do this by finding them, looking for items that will help you kill them. It's basically a puzzle game, because each kill acts like it's own puzzle. The puzzles themselves range from really easy to sometimes kind of stupid, but the kills themselves are glorious and actually a ton of fun to see. It's fine for the most part and it plays pretty well, however this game has it's own unique problems. First of all since the third person camera is now gone, you don't have a lot of control of where to use your powers and for the most part it doesn't make things difficult, until the finale. In the original the finale was really simple, but here it's borderline impossible because you can't point your powers in the direction you need to. To finish this game, you need a lot of luck on your side. Verdict: I think Lucius Demake is a fun game in it's own right, but I think the original game is much better. The Demake removes a lot what made the original charming and this is more or less a novel way to experience the game, but if you're a first timer, just go with the original, but after playing it definitely consider giving this one a shot. Final Rating: 7/10 Pros: + A faithful demake + Navigation is much less painful than in the original + Great puzzles Cons: - Audio design is terrible - The final level is insanely difficult due to the overhead camera If you liked this review please consider following our groups and curator pages at https://steamcommunity.com/groups/completingthebacklog and https://steamcommunity.com/groups/ImperialReviews

𝕎𝕙𝕖𝕟 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕘𝕖𝕥 𝕡𝕒𝕤𝕥 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝔸𝕥𝕒𝕣𝕚 𝕘𝕣𝕒𝕡𝕙𝕚𝕔𝕤, 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕤 𝕚𝕤 𝕖𝕩𝕒𝕔𝕥𝕝𝕪 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕃𝕦𝕔𝕚𝕦𝕤 𝕤𝕙𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕕'𝕧𝕖 𝕓𝕖𝕖𝕟!

The "Lucius" demake is exactly what Lucius 1 should've been... A mostly narrative experience where you're in control of the devil's son! No third person adventuring in the mansion, no... straight up to the fun part where you murder a maid and blame someone else for it. If you're not familiar with Lucius, this is a "demake" of the game where you play as Lucifer's son, in a quest to gather as many souls for the demon king as possible... by brutally murdering people around you while trying your best to avoid suspicions... almost in a Death Note fashion. The original Lucius was great, but I think this format just works better! Demaking that game was a genious move because not only do the Atari graphics add an eerie uniqueness to the game but it also scraps all the adventuring and exploration you've got to do, jumping you straight to the killing. I can't emphasize enough how amazing this game actually is... Yes, it's a demake! Yes, the graphics might turn you off, but also Yes, the killing is quite satisfying once you put one and one together. There are also night sections where you have to avoid your mom's flashlight in an attempt to sneak into your grandfather's room to steal rat poison... that you'll use the next morning to claim your next victim. Good times there kiddo! I rate the game 9/10 because, again, as is the case with any "retro-like" game, the filters offered by the devs are quite limited! I thought this game would still look amazing, in Atari graphics, with the right refining and tuning. However, Lucius Demake just WORKS; and here's hoping they also demake Lucius 2 and Lucius 3, which, in my opinion, sucked really hard and require some sort of reviving... and what's better than reviving them in glorious Atari graphics.

Game breaking bug where the game skips the first chapter and you miss out on being able to grab a key item that you need to finish a later mission. Disappointing that this happened because everything else about the game is quite enjoyable.

Lucius Demake, as its name indicates, is a demake of the original Lucius game. It is made to look as if it is actually from the late 80s, complete with 2D pixel graphics and 16 colors. The story in Lucius Demake is the same as it was in the original game. Lucius is a game with strong links to "The Omen". The player takes the role of Lucius, the son of the devil, who has to clear the mansion of it’s residents. To do this he must orcastrate “accidents” without anyone suspecting him of any foul play. It takes 3-4 hours to finish the game completely. For those who liked the original game and for fans of "The Omen" a must have. When Lucius was 6 years old, he did not suspect what gifts fate had prepared for him. Now - the young Antichrist must pave the way for his father from Hell - bloody sacrifices, the approaching Apocalypse! Pros: <*>+ Visual style <*>+ Achievements <*>+ Trading cards <*>+ The plot repeats the original game Minuses: <*>- Possible bugs spoiling the passage. Total: A quality remake of the original game. The authors conveyed the whole atmosphere of the game, the plot and many small details. The passage of the game can take more than one hour, even if you have already played the original game. The offensive moment is the fact that you can completely screw up the passage of the game - forgetting to pick up some little thing at the beginning. The game is recommended to all those who are nostalgic for the days of VHS, CRT TVs and 8-bit consoles.

I really must say that this is even a better version of the original Lucius game back from 2012 - but mind, that this is still the same game, just with an oldschool look. I loved it, although I never played on a gameboy. Great music and charming art style.
