  Update (31 Jul 2022): An exploit was found in the game's code and hackers injected malware into some of the players' PCs. No communication was made by the developer on the Steam forums. The developer only posted information and updates on their own Discord channel, and players had to learn from community members about it and had to be directed over to Discord. Poor communication from the developers, really. Can't recommend it any further. *I give it a negative rating because it's clearly an unfinished game being sold as a complete product. But the idea is right, and the game has potential... If it has another year or two in proper, solid development. This isn't as much a game, as it is a sandbox tech demo. You get a car, a pointless avatar that is never shown outside the sole menu screen, and then the game drops you either into a rather soulless recreation of a Japanese highway that endlessly loops (there are roads leading off the highway but they're blocked with an invisible wall), or one of 3 tiny tracks. And there's really no aim to anything - you drive in circles, somehow your cash goes up slowly over time (the game never tells you what to do to earn cash), and sometimes the police chase you in easy, boring, pointlessly long chases until they give up or you get caught for no penalty. Now occasionally you get the option to participate in a random race with other randoms, with absolutely no class division so good luck if you're just starting out and someone has a faster car. You'll likely lose the race, and if you were in a police chase before that, you'll drop right back into it at 0km/h so it's an instant-loss for you. Or you hit a cop mid-race, he chases, you end the race and the game drops you to 0km/h and... You get it. Then there's the fact that these races countdown with a timer, but sometimes the timer randomly stops counting down... If you win? You get a small dollop of cash and "rating". What does rating do? And the cash awarded isn't even accurate - I had 135k in the bank, won 2.5k, and went up to 136k. There's no telling what triggers these random races. The notification pops up at will. There are white markers as you drive around but these don't seem to have any effect. You accumulate points with combo multipliers, and these have absolutely no effect on anything, least so on your cash which is pretty much the only thing that matters. The car selection is a typical pick of popular 90s Japanese cars. Where are the 00s cars? None of the cars in-game are 00s cars. Also, the stats on some cars are clearly incorrect. The DC2 came with either a 128bhp D16, or a 170-190bhp B18. The game gives you a 185 bhp B16. For a game meant to entice car enthusiasts, these simple mistakes are glaring and off-putting. The player cars drive pretty arcade-ish, but clearly the handling needs sorting, because as is the cars are just far too grippy. And then you have the NPC cars which perform immediate lane changes on a whim, sending you right into walls if you don't spot them quick enough. A single generic techno soundtrack bores itself into your head as you drive the soulless, looping highway. Car sounds are decent, if nothing else. Graphically, the game looks like it belongs in the PS3 era, which is a tad disappointing for a genre that has in the last decade thrived on graphical fidelity alongside actually fun gameplay. --- The game is clearly and obviously a work-in-progress with numerous bugs and tons of missing content. But the premise is solid. I'm frankly in two minds whether to get a refund because I like what I think the game could become. If you want anything resembling a complete game, though, save yourself the headache and get Forza Horizon 5 instead.

  infected potentially hundreds of PCs with trojan software through remote code execution. heard nothing of it for days until the discord found it. if you've played online between the 24th of July 2022 and now, you're at risk.
