  A trashy cash grab that feels like it was designed by interns and implemented only passably. What video gamer wants another forced side-scroller in their life??? The bosses are lackluster. Why do the new zones not have any relics (a core part of the game)? Why is the Cavern of Souls so dark and hard to move through? Why is it unclear that you have to buy this full (more expensive) DLC to get the Jotunn class as opposed to their normal model? It seems like the devs, who usually are so amazingly on point adapting great features from other video games, have no idea what a daily is or is supposed to be. Why are the dailies rooted in RNG that make it hard to complete on the day to day (go find x monster to kill, but he is a RARE spawn)?? The base game is amazing. There aren't even redeeming qualities here.

  TL;DR: Act 8 got an bad Shoot'em up Sequence, that ruins this expansion. No recommendation till this get's removed or in some way improved. I've been playing Hero Siege for a while, mostly played it in the past on mobile. Now with some hours on PC, I decided to try the Expansion and the 8th Act, to see for myself what it is all about. The Developer tried something new here: Focusing more about Story and Presentation. Which is certainly nothing bad, the cutscenes and dialouges are quite pretty, but this game was never really story focused and it feels like that this shift in Focus hurt the game more then it might've helped. The worst thing about Act 8 is definitly the Shoot'em up sequence. Controlling a Boat that is slower than most enemies/projectiles is definitly not fun and actually quite rage inducing, especially when at the end of the sequence you have to fight a boss, still in boat and you have to pray to RNGesus, that the boss doesn't use certain attacks in a certain order, because with your slow movement speed some attack combos become unavoidable and with only 3 Hearts/3 Health this can quickly mean the restart of the WHOLE sequence. Let me hope for you, that you didn't get hit in the first half, because you take that amount of Hearts/Health into the boss. Really this one and only sequence is the lone reason I cannot recommend this expansion right now, its so out of nowhere and doesn't match with the normal gameplay loop at all. Spent 100th of hours to get the perfect gear? Optimized your Skills? All that doesn't matter here AND IT'S MANDATORY! So you wanna finish Act 8? You gonna do it. I really wonder why the Developer thought, that there is need a for this Gameplay-Sequence. I personally hope it gets removed or at least made optional, after that I have no problem recommending this expansion. Act 8 might be a bit buggy, but I encountered no game-breaking-bugs, most were visual bugs.

  Edit: EAC (Easy Anti Cheat) still not allowing players to actually play. Steam/PC based still needs time to get fixed completely but finally got a work around for those needing it as well: Install and load Beta version of HS through the Steam>Library>Game>Properties - EAC should show a progress bar when it didn't before when you attempt to load. If you see this you know it has worked. Re configure your steam library settings from Beta back to none and remember to load from the DLC page and not the normal HS page or library.

  i'm only giving it a negative review cause of the shitty river section. It is not a bad concept, just that the boss was badly executed. One of the attacks are impossible to dodge. Literally. I can excuse the bugs that it has, but not this annoying ass minigame.

  I'm not sure if the expansion got polished since the release, but I had a great time and this little story was a nice break from the grind. Jötunn is fun as heck :)

  Fun dlc with a fun new char! The river part is not as bad as people say but the whole dlc is bugged with items running away from you and not being able to move when you enter a dungeon. Since the final boss is in a dungeon i cant beat him because i cant reach him...
