  I hate fun so I buy these bullet hell to torment myself with and drown in sprays of bullets because they're super fast and I deserve to die for playing these. It's like Touhou or Ikaruga. those are like Space Invaders, except the screen is made of bullets and tears are streaming down your face because you keep dying because there are so many bullets. The patterns are pretty.

With a new cast of characters that is entirely different from the earlier titles of the [i]eXceed[/i] series, it features a girl from the Dragon Clan Rayne Lindwurm. Rayne plans to compete in a tournament against other participants in her academy to become the Cardinal Lord of her world Pandemonium across 5 levels and one hidden level. Similar to the previous two titles of the [i]eXceed[/i] series, the game is a doujin bullet hell shooter with great artwork in the game cover, soundtrack cover, character sprites, Steam badges, emoticons and profile backgrounds which make it attractive to showcase on profile. The game has normal gamepad controller sensitivity, fast catchy pop background music to keep players excited in the game as an arcade shooter and great voice acting. Again, as a game that is released back in 2009, the take screenshot feature in the Steam version doesn't work where it only gives a black picture without any picture of the character artwork sprites or conversation text window which is quite a shame since the character artwork sprites and visual novel aspects in this game is one of the main highlights of this game. The game also only has 3 continues where if the player doesn't play well, the player will have to replay the game all over again from level 1 to see the ending. Although it isn't too difficult at easy difficulty, I still had to play the game from start to finish several times to become familiar with it. According to a published Steam community guide, there is a secret unlockable level and boss that will appear only when certain conditions are met which is not an easy feat as it requires completing the game without using any continues, then fighting three different bosses at normal difficulty without using bombs or losing a life. I didn't manage to reach this part because my fingers hurt from playing bullet hell shooters and I have to admit I am more into the plot, soundtrack and artwork (visual novel elements) rather than difficult arcade bullet hell gameplay. Having played the earlier titles of the [i]eXceed[/i] series, [i]eXceed 3rd - Jade Penetrate Black Package[/i] is the hardest title of the series as a bullet hell shooter, while also having the most stirring and exciting soundtracks. On the Steam store page description, it lists high production values with outstanding graphics, music and gameplay as one of its main selling points. My favourite soundtracks in this game are [i]Hymnus[/i] at title screen, [i]FIY UP[/i] at level 2, [i]Maid To Order[/i] at level 4 and [i]Next Stage[/i] at normal end credits. In addition, besides the attractive anime artwork and a bit of fan service on one of the female characters, I notice that the choreography for some of the bigger mech enemies are a nice improvement in this game where they will fly in, unfold into a battle mode form, burst into flames and explode when destroyed with accompanying voice acting by the protagonist. Although I didn't manage to reach the secret level, and the price of this game and its soundtrack DLC is the highest compared to the earlier titles of the [i]eXceed[/i] series, I can recommend this game with the soundtrack DLC when it is at an attractive discounted price or bundle offer because of its attractive artwork, animation, voice acting, and background music.   Much better than the previous games in the series. This is a solid bullet hell shooter with some interesting bullet patterns and flashy visuals.

  You need to be a fan of this type of game to enjoy it. I bought this game because I enjoy trying different things in gaming, but i never really got into this one. For the price however, I can't really complain. I would have paid more going to a movie.

  I'd say that this is a must buy for every danmaku fan that has a Steam account. The gameplay is fun and challenging, the graphics are pretty good too and the music is absolutely fantastic. It's a 8.5/10, at least for me. And it's cheap, so if you like the Touhou series, Ikaruga, Deathsmiles or even DoDonPachi you won't get disappointed.

  what you can expect: 6 stages with fitting music( mostly heavy metal) 6 bosses and some sub bosses each with their own awesome attack patterns homing shots and destrucable homing lasers if enough ( don't how there are called)are gathered. 4 different diffculties screen will get very very shiny because the bullets in the later difficulties, it won't prevent you from playing. Rate it for all shmup advanced players to complete shmup masochists.^^ PS: note that this game is NOT the orginal you can see on yt as jade penetrate. But I still recommend it to buy it, as it is very similiar. it is not as hard as the orginal but still worth it.

  This game really EXCEEDed my expectations. It does everything a bullet hell shmup needs to do. It's beautiful, it offers frantic action, it has creative bullet patterns. The music is excellent offering some rad tunes, it's some METAL stuff. The gameplay offers a bullet grazing system that charges your special attack. Said special attack is useful to clear the screen of the weaker enemies, which in turn increases your score multiplier which gives you more lives. In short, a fast paced game that rewards boldness and skill. Of special note is how freaking awesome the bosses are. They scream crazy japanese nonsense throughout the entire fight to the sound of rad tunes all the while insane bullet patterns dance all around the screen. Definitely give this one a try if you like bullet hell shmups. And if you don't, give it a try too because it might be the game that introduces you to how incredible the genre can be.

  Way too short even for its kind, has huge framerate issues and you can't replay the game as another character like the previous games because there is only one character this time. Don't forget there is a demo on the official website if you are really interested.
