Door Kickers: Action Squad Funciones

Door Kickers: Action Squad is a crazy old school side-scroller action game that puts you in the role of a SWAT trooper and sends you to deal with the bad guys in Nowhere City USA.

Choose your gear, then kick the doors down and face the action. Adapt and react by the seat of your pants, and if needed - restart without a care and rethink. Master weapons recoil and time your reloads, use distance and cover to your advantage and use the in-game Strategic Abilities to decide for yourself when healthpacks or gear refills are needed, or if that team-mate of yours is worth saving. Or just save up the Points earned and unleash your Ultimate to waltz through that tricky final room.

And when it gets too hard, bring over a friend to help.

You play as one of six SWAT team members rescuing hostages, disarming bombs, and saving the day. Each playable character has different abilities, adding an extra level of strategy to the gameplay. From preparation to completion, missions offer a number of compelling options for the player to consider. Character choice is important. Each of the game’s six classes (Assaulter, Breacher, Shield, Recon, Off-Duty Guy, and Agent Fergie) has a different style. Distinct weapons like assault rifles, shotguns, pistols, as well as two pieces of gear mean that not only does every class demand a distinctive approach but provides Door Kickers: Action squad with an assortment of difficulty levels. You play the levels, you gain experience by killing bad guys and saving the ladies, and then you use your points to improve your character’s abilities. It’s all very clear and simple. Door Kickers: Action squad gives its weapons different recoil and firing rates. Once you’ve levelled up a few times you’ll be able to spend those points on upgrades that improve your recoil, meaning you’ll be far more accurate and the hostages will catch fewer stray bullets in their noodles. You can upgrade your health, too, as well as buy new gear. The game has 84 non-linear levels to complete, bonus Endless Tower and Zombie Invasion modes, 60 weapons and gear items, over 20 enemy types, and four mission objectives. Take this system with the level design, the variety of enemies, and the clear thought that was put into the encounters of Door Kickers: Action squad, and you’ve got a potent retro action game. THE GOOD - Satisfying, tactical combat - Lots of content across three modes - Online play, Co-op - Nostalgia-driven graphics - Scenarios offer different strategies THE BAD - Occasional lack of clarity in visuals - Simplistic music - Lack of a story mode
9/10
DISASTER | BAD | MEDIOCRE | OKAY | GOOD | GREAT | AMAZING | MASTERPIECE
If you like this review, then please consider giving it a thumbs up. Gamescom 2018. So i walked through the dark corners of the indie boots not wanting to wait 3 hours to get a glimps of super smash brother or the new battlefield. just wanted to play a game. walk past by all the boots and there in the middle the was one screen with 2 free controllers. So me and a friend of mine took those controllers and played this game called Door kickers: Action Squad. we hitted that fire button and picked one of the 5 classes and loaded up a level. We kicked open the first door and start shooting our way true. open a door and there was a suicide bomber who blew up us 2 we laughed and immediately hit that retry button. After 5 tries of the first level we played we got true the level. Behind us there where 2 other guys wanting to play so we painfully had to let go of our controllers and left the boot with as a goody some cold spring rolls and a card of the game. but we couldnt let the game go out of our mind. next day of gamescom we went back to the boot as we graved for more gameplay. So back to the boot There was the game again with the same springroll goody. We played true the 3 playable levels. Had loads of fun tried all the classes. There were guys waiting for the game but we couldnt let go. A guy from the boot came to us and offered us a challenge and took us to a level you couldnt play and told us if you guys die you need to go. challenge accepted. 1 min in the level we both died and sadly we had to let go of our controller. The guy told us if you want to blame someone for the level design blame me. He is pure evil So we talked to this guy after we played only to figure out that the game is allready in early acces on steam. And that the spring roll goody was actually his colleges lunch.. So the best game for me at Gamescom 2018 was for me Door Kickers: Action Squad Ty guys for realeasing this beauty of a game. And sorry for eating your lunch.

Door Kickers: Action Squad is definitely fun and has plenty of content, but there are a few things holding it back from true greatness. First off, this title has a lot in common with games like Gunpoint and DEADBOLT. It's all about learning the premade levels to perfect your playthrough. Now Door Kickers: Action Squad has RPG-like leveling up and buying gear which, on one hand, adds some neat variety in loadout options, but on the other hand it sort of flaws the whole thing by rewarding the player for not perfecting runs early on. What I mean is this: why would I take the time to perfect level 1 with the base build when I could simply 'just get through it' and then come back and crush it when I have much better gear? Now this isn't a deal-breaker, but I do have to question why it was constructed this way. Other than that, we have some really nice pixel art and totally decent music and sound effects. Co-op would be a blast if you can find someone to regularly play with. Just understand this is an action game first, and a strategy game second. It's a close second, but there are absolutely moments where it's just 'go in guns blazing'. I don't think that part is avoidable, and that's fine. Pros: +It's fun. +Good bit of content. +The pixel art is quite nice. +Co-op is fun. Meh: =There is something about simply memorizing the best way to run a premade level that never feels great to me. Now some titles do it better than others, and Door Kickers: Action Squad is pretty middle-of-the-road for me. I feel like maybe there was a missed opportunity to add in just a bit of proc gen elements, and create some sort of hybrid. As it stands, there is nothing in this title that hasn't been directly done before. And again, that's okay. Cons: -The metaprogression rewards the player for waiting to upgrade gear before trying to simply rely on skill alone to 100% a level. -The different character 'classes' essentially reflect difficulty modes. I'm not sure I like this way of doing it. Not sure what else I can say about that. Unless this is totally your jam, I'd wait for a sale.

40 years of gaming and easily one of the best all time games I've ever played, solo and co-op

An action shooter with comedic gore thrown in over an 80's vibe effected through the music and location settings The 5 different character options with upgrades that can be levelled up whether you fail or succeed makes for massive replayability and strategic choices literally doubled in co-op mode. Co-Op is effected through RIS (random internet stranger), SteamPlay (streamed to a friend), Private Hosting and my favourite - Couch! Couch Co-Op is an underrated bit of awesome and this is one of the best I've experienced. I tie my spawn down to a chair and force it to play with me or it doesn't get fed. She loves it. The level progression is superb, with difficulty ramping up through sneakier tougher enemies matching perfectly to your upgrade options. The entire game is possible to solo but a lot less frustrating in co-op unless you replay finished levels a few times to gain upgrade XP. Each character has a playable difficulty rating with the easiest being "LOL"....which is apt...however the "harder" to play options tend to get more power as they level up meaning perseverance pays off. I found myself replaying levels with each character just for the fun of it, but also to give myself more options late game which as it turned out was a good idea. Not content with 6 Chapters totalling 72 surprisingly unique maps, there is a Challenge Mode with a further 12 and a DLC pack which gives 12 super long missions, which technically I'd put at 36 maps considering the length of each approaches three times that of a "standard" chapter's map.

    Still not enough?

<*>Guess what <*>You'll never guess <*>Ok I'll tell you. <*>There is.... <*>.......a ZOMBIE MOOOODE!!!! Weeeheehee! Every level can be replayed with a Zombie spawn option. I know, right? Steam's Overwhelmingly Positive rating aside (a rare accolade), this is one of those titles you'll be picking up and replaying for years to come, a marvellous addition to your library. One of those games that if you have a buddy to play with you just have to buy. There's no thinking necessary, just do it. Even more so if you're over 30 and you got that whole nostalgia thing going on. You can play smart, or you can play dumb, but if you play dumb pretty soon you'll be loosing too many hostages so it isn't that forgiving, and it shouldn't be. Right now after ~20 levels I'm at a point where I'm hoping the things will get even harder, to a point where you have to plan almost the whole level. I'll be moderately disappointed if it doesn't reach that point. In that case I guess the real challenge would be getting a perfect score on all levels. Would I replay the game to get there? Maybe, if I get enough beer in me and it's one of those fun things you do with someone. On its own, no I wouldn't re-play it.

The game is great solo, incredibly fun with a friend, which is made easier by the fact that it has remote play together, so you can play with any friend you have, no second copy needed (if you both have good internet). Pretty much every character has missions they will excel at and missions they will struggle on, so don't get too caught up in trying to use only one. With a partner, you'll find some great combo's, like shield and recon for perfect no hurt runs, or assault and breacher for damage/accuracy/door blasting all at once. The only thing that I could ask for now is a Door Kickers: Magic Squad sequel with like a knight and a wizard and whatever because I think it would be fun.

If I hear "trespassers" one more time... "Action Squad" is such a departure from the original Door Kickers titles, though clever little design choices make it feel like a true to the franchise entry throughout. There's a solid amount of customization & content here, & the endless tower mode makes for some interesting score chasing, though I do wish there were a daily challenge of some sort. The art is clean so you'll never get confused by what's happening on the screen, & the OST honestly goes a lot harder than it has any right to. Combat is quick but never feels unfair. Some encounters can surprise you the first time you experience them, though every situation is playable with the right gear & an understanding of what counters what (PS, flashbangs are your best friends for hostage missions). With 84 missions, 6 unique combatants, Steam Workshop support, & star ratings to chase, there's a plenty of replability to be found throughout this delightful little experience.
