I feel really torn about recommending this game. While it's one of the best singleplayer experiences I've had in VR, it's hardly an hour of playtime. The second it feels like things are really picking up, it just ends. As the other reviewers said, it's more like a demo. An expensive demo. Wait until it's on sale.

For Oculus Quest 2 users that can't get the controllers to show up (they didn't show up at all ingame for me). This video helped me, I only did the step with the "show old binding UI". Later you pick the community binding by Fazza (this is what worked best for me, not the Cain one like in the video) https://youtu.be/whm0RujPLus This is what I did to make it work: 0. Activate Oculus headset, launch Quest Link. 1. Launch Steam VR 2. Launch Batman: Arkham VR from within Steam VR 3. Go into desktop view or alt tab out of batman to reach the small Steam VR popup window 4. Press the 3 horizontal lines icon in the little Steam VR window popup. Devices > Controller settings 5. Mark "Show advanced settings" 6. Show Old Binding UI 7. Select Batman: Arkham VR from the list Note: This is where I encountered a problem. When I had to press "show more games" to find Batman, the community bindings showed wrong. But when the game was launched it was on top of the list already and then the Fazza preset was there. 8. Activate "Shared binding from Fazza" 9. This is it. Go back to Batman: Arkham VR now and at least it should show your motion controllers. It shows me the wrong controllers from the Vive, but that's really irrelevant as you anyway soon get the "game hands" Note: The game uses a weird control scheme, you might have to remap stuff. But hopefully it works for you now. Disclaimer: That process is still experimental, I literally only figured that out yesterday. Hopefully it works for you, but if it doesn't don't cut my head off.

Finally, I thought, a AAA title for VR!! The first scene told me this was going to be an awesome experience. The graphics are amazing. The VR controller integration felt spot on. The trip down to the batcave to suit up...great...we are going to kick some aZZ!! Looked at myself in the mirror and I AM BATMAN!! The character animation followed me perfectly. The head movement and arm gestures lined up right on the money. The devs nailed it! OK....suited up now lets get going. Eh...the excitement dwindled in the batcave. I got to toggle some buttons and pick up some things. Learn my mission from Alfred and headed to the batmobile. It seems the developers had an ambitious plan for this game. But it quickly turned into a barely interactive short movie. I picked the batwing to head off for trouble but the screen went black...the audio was working - I thought my VR visor lost connection - nope - not even a cut scene showing me drive/fly - I plopped onto a building and well....the very very short story unfolded very quickly with very little interaction. It felt like I was on a ride at Universal Studios or something. This hardly meets the description of a game. I am very dissappointed with this as it has so much potentional but just turned into another VR demo experience. I'm starting to get discouraged that VR is going to have any real content. At least it isn't a wave shooter but, if I knew this was going to be a short, kind of interactive movie I wouldnt' have paid $20. this is worth about $1.99 - but only if they would pay me the $1.99 for using up my hard drive space. Pro's: top notch graphics and optimization. The "game" ran smooth and for the most part seemed polished. Voice acting and character animation are well done. Con's - no action - no gameplay - press a few buttons and watch the script run. I was not batman.....

It's just a demo... I see 'mostly positive' so I decided to experience it and wasted $20. It shows a cool concept with great visuals and unique mechanics, but it's just a demo. I don't even think I can call it a full mission of gameplay. Had this been a full game I would've had no complaints, it was good as you would expect it to be. But you'll only get an hour out of it and they really shouldn't be selling it at that price.

There's no content here. Valve has released FTP tech demos with more content. Half of my time was just throwing batarangs in the batcave. This is coming from a huge Batman fan, and this doesn't really make you feel like Batman.

Nope. No fights, no vehicles driving, no movements. Time play: 1 hour relaxed Looks like a lazy developed trial instead of a game.

Controller support for Rift S or Quest 2 totally broken. Steam or Rocksteady seem unwilling to fix. If they can’t be bothered to fix it they should be offering refunds regardless of time played or purchase date. The least we can expect when we buy software is that it continues to work on the hardware we bought it on.

Even on special I felt ripped off. It's short, it's slapped together, and it's not even really a game! It's more a series of short cut scenes sewn together with some very half-assed detective mechanics. You don't move, you don't drive any cool vehicles, you don't fight, you don't really do anything except some very basic puzzles. Refund requested with extreme prejudice.
