  [h1]Army Men[/h1] This is probably the most precious hidden gem in steam store. You get a super cheap price (or free if you download from their main site) for a massive gameplay content with potential to be even more in future. Map is completely free-roam you can hook or jetpack your way onto anything, build anywhere, place any soldier or vehicle everywhere, drive or enter any emplacement or vehicle, even a mega robot. Personally fight the war in a front line or act as a commander and use map feature to command your troop in basic RTS style. Furthermore they have included toybox mode which basically allow you to create your own map and adding any little props or detail however you want, giving an unlimited idea to expand replayability map with community help via workshop feature. Gameplay is a third person shooter with RTS element in it, with an option to play in first person mode. You start in large map with a lot of various elevation point of interests decorated by everyday life furniture and stuff. You're playing as an army men toy and their goal is to let loose and destroy every other toy that is different color than your, wack thing chaos all over the place or play in defense mode where you have to protect your HQ from series of enemy wave by wave. A number of available troops and vehicle, including emplacement and buildings are massive, and no known cap number of troop on the game pretty much assure of chaotic gunfire and explosive. The map can have several color armies present in the game to top it up. A Zombie and insect terror defense mode is also included in a game. The game is currently in early state and has no story element aside from small talk and introduction in Boot Camp mission. Four modes are currently playable which are: [list][*]Invasion [*]Skirmish [*]Conquest [*]Toybox[/list] [h3]Invasion[/h3] is base defense style, protecting your HQ from series of enemies army or horde of zombie, spiders and ants in Terror mode Invasion. Your objective is to survive for set number of wave and you can pick whatever to continue a wave or end a game from there. [h3]Skirmish[/h3] is an all out war style. All you have to do is destroying all other HQs that isn't a same color as yours while protect yours from them. It has spawn phase where anything you spawn from this will respawn when they're destroyed or killed in battle, including building and emplacement. [h3]Conquest[/h3] is an all out war that focus on capturing a point. It has a capture point placed around the map where player must capture to earn a point. There's no limit in how many point you can earn, it can go forever if score gain rate of any army are on par so it promotes you to capture your own AND interrupt other army from earning point by capture other point or at least put them into neutral to stop them from earning all the while make sure your army don't lose one yourself. That or destroy enemy HQ to refrain them from involving in a war for the rest of the game. This mode has to most number of faction presented in a game, pretty much all colors are fighting. [h3]Toybox[/h3] Create/Edit your own map and share to the workshop. You can customize your hero a bit. It seems like you can pick other hero in a future but for now you can only play as army men (which ironically has default name Sarge). As you win and earn plastic, you can buy gun or add unit to your personal squad, which can give a jump start for future game attempt. When your hero is promoted to Cpt (Captain) at the end of battle, you can go to your Toy Hero Profile to promote him up and reset his rank to Pvt (Private). Which will give you more start plastic for better starting point where it could be useful when you want to attempt a map on higher difficulty. I think Visual and Sound Effect are already in good state. It could be a bit rough around the edge with a bit visual graphic bug when zooming or camera panning at the certain angle or when staying in some corner of the map. Or AI has limited based on your CPU where they might stop function properly when there're too many of them (like way way way too many) in a current map. Nonetheless It has offered a very playable and enjoyable game, currently there're achievements for complete available map and pick all the medals, which are already bit time consumption, require some strategy and better understanding of how mechanic in each unit and map by map works, like range, damage per second, good spot emplacement etc.

  This game a definitive winner, not just for nostalgia sake for the old 3DO army men games especially for the sarges heroes series. This game is pretty enjoyable Given how its in early access here is some things I would fix/add to the game Fixes ------ Add more command types for for the RTS aspect: Add a command for the helicopters to land so the infantry can board or if the player wishes to easily commandeer it. Alternatively have the copters automatically land when the infantry seeks to board. Have a command for builders to build a specific building rather than just build random stuff at random (and often impractical) places Improved driving handling: The vehicles Add a non-LAN based multiplayer system complete with a server browser. make the building aspect a little less confusing with a more straight forward adding/upgrading/removing mechanic Improved movement in context for ramps and small traversable objects for tanks and other vehicles Add some more menu UI fixes: Like difficulty settings, objective pop-ups (while in-game), make it easier to replenish plastic for squad mechanics or make it easier to gain new unit types for your squad or make the medals easier to gain. Additions----- Add different types of units: Robots are good but a bit limited right now so more types of robots would be great as for other potential building/unit types add action figures and lego-type figurines to the roster or even makeshift units/buildings made out of common household items. Make different new playable heroes that are not just for cosmetic reasons but add a gameplay modifier Add some more loadout options like body armor or other things. Look to Foxhole for reference for some new items to add This is the most I can think of. So please developers, think this over. Your game deserves to succeed!

  for the love of god DO NOT LET THIS GAME DIE. this game IS SO CREATIVE. it puts you into pov of a base builder and mashes the concepts together of rise of nations game and first person shooter. YOU BUILD FACTORIES TANKS ARMIES FROM PLASTIC. the ability to do this MAKES YOU FEEL POWERFULL. i WANT. I NEED. MORE OF THIS GAME

  I always loved the old 3DO army man games, and this is very evocative of that. It's a style of game I wished existed as a kid, an FPS with RTS elements. Despite a few rough edges, it's a lot of fun. I will also say that it's very challenging, but in a good way. The victories feel very earned, but the losses aren't crushing. In it's current state of development, it's some solid casual fun and well worth the 7 bucks. There are a number of play styles that can be effective. I'd say the conquest mode needs a little polish, it would be cool to have multiple possible spawn points throughout the map so that you're not essentially having to fight the same battle the same way. It'd also be cool for a setting that allows you to continue the fight, even though another faction has achieved the necessary point maximum. Skirmish and Invasion mode are probably the most fun and polished so far. It's possible I'm using the UI incorrectly, but I can't seem to figure out how to reenter RTS mode. It would be nice to toggle back and forth, and be able to control ground other units from above at times. As it is, I'm in FPS mode, and most friendly units are self directed. Which, is something I do like. It adds an element of realism to the tower defense situations where you prepare all you can, and have to battle it out as best you can in one spot and trust the lads to handle their sectors so to speak. A story mode would be an excellent edition to this game in the long term, something that allows for various scenarios with missions that emphasize different mechanics and play styles. Maybe different phases to the battle, say an FPS phase where a base needs to be secured, or a certain column destroyed, followed by an RTS phase where you mount a large counter offensive. A small unit mode that deemphasizes the RTS element might be really cool too. Perhaps even a capture the flag type situation with infantry units only. Maybe successful captures allow for more advanced unit types. Or even random units designated as a protected unit that the opposite team must assassinate to score points. Just a thought. In any case, the developer is quite talented, and I wish them all the best on this and future projects. I'm excited to watch this project grow.

  Early in review (2-13-2023)(14 Hours): Thoughts: I love this game's potential and it currently stands in a decent place. I have not had a chance to try multiplayer locally just yet but I will add my thoughts on that when I finally can. Units/gamemodes/weapons all in good abundance with space to expand. The overall feeling I get while playing invasion is epic military assaults with a fun toy ascetic. That kinda feeling you get when you look up in BF4 and see all that support flying above you and looking down at the tanks advancing kinda feeling. Some of the AI's attributes do leave some things to be desired, and this is somewhat situational and understandably so seeing as this game is still being developed. I look forward to further control over my units from the various methods of doing so. Being able to command Aircraft for example with more commands than Attack/Follow/Stay. Maybe like to see 'flight levels' added so I can tell bombers to remain up a bit higher and fighters to be lower. Over all score by category: Graphics: 7/10 Physics: 7/10 Performance 9/10 - Single Player Weapon Choices - 8/10 Vehicle Choices - 7.5/10 AI performance - 5/10 Building Options - 7/10 Customization - 6/10 Building Mode Function - 7.5/10 Multiplayer Thoughts: None just yet coming soon.

  A genuinely fun mix of RTS + FPS that was clearly made with passion for the genres. Needs more content for replay-ability but I'd give it a 7/10 for overall fun
