  + This simulator taught me to fly and land successfully. Never again will I be tossing about erratically. + Good visuals, panoramic scenery looks great, 3D scenery is sufficient. + Interesting features (multiplayer) and game options (spot landing, etc.) Enough variety in aircraft and scenery to learn what you need to. + Possible to play with a game controller in a pinch or with a USB-connected RC radio. - High AAA game price for fair visual quality / shallow game loop. - Simulation issues, like gears tearing off as soon as they hit grass (see artwork tab to see what I mean). Still haven't managed a tip stall, so unconvinced about the absolute realism of control laws, which is what I paid for after all (however, this is not a definite criticism, just something I observed made me crash in real life and has not happened in-game; perhaps due to the models available, see below). - UI/UX is passable. For example, throttle was incorrect until I learned to lower my throttle against the UI's advice to center it, dramatically improving my flight experience. As another example, you must click "scan to detect new controllers" instead of that action being triggered automatically when you open the menu or add a controller. Generally works smoothly once you know what you're doing, but not the best. - Aircraft selection, at least in the base game, is focused on expensive balsa or fiberglass airplanes. Needing to train for a 64mm EDF, there's nothing exactly right. Surely foamies are more popular than custom-built models these days, but this sim only caters to the later experienced pilots. Their competitor seems to have the advantage in that regard. Generally, fair, but not the level of finish expected from version 8 of a $100 CAD simulator. However, it taught me to fly properly and I'm fairly confident my abilities will translate well (have flown before, just not very successfully). I'm hopeful, but not sure that this simulator's level of accuracy is higher than its competitor's.

  Pros: 1 - Lots of airplane choices 2 - Very low system requirements, even for VR Cons: 1 - Flight model is very simplistic and "on-rails." Airplanes will basically fly straight up forever if you ask, and no matter how hard you crank on the stick nothing will ever stall or snap roll or do anything other than stay firmly glued to the rails. 2 - All the planes feel basically the same. I'd expect a jet-powered f16 model to feel different than a little OS1.6 trainer, but no. 3 - Doesn't look good. I think VR eye offsets are incorrect for the 4D scenery, so it looks wrong. Airplane models are very basic.

  just not wort the asking price! and the basic aircraft pack is very slim and just not worth 80 bucks. 6 hours in and most of that is just chilling with the same glider at the same scenery and it's getting boring AF, and i went to looks at the planes in the dlc pack's and there is no way on earth i am paying more money for this very boring simulator. just can't wait until BalsaRC comes out. but that is probably going to cost an arm like all these flying simulators. think Velocidrone and Liftoff are the only ones at a fair price and just very good sim's. but i am going to try and get a refund for this shit. it's just not worth my money.

  Just a fantastic tool/game. Was in doubt because I already own Aerofly RC 7 and a lot of sceneries and planes are the same. But after playing a while now I have to say that the quality is just excellent. Everything form the sceneries and the look of the planes but more inportant how the planes handle is great. The price may be a bit steep with the expansion packs but the sheer amount of content you get is worth it. Still with so many planes and helicopters I still miss some iconic planes. So should a dev read this and you're making another expension pack I would really like some more WW2 fighters from the Pacific theater.

  Awesome Graphics and pretty accurate controls with the RC USB controller. Seems pricey to some, however think about the cost of buying a New RC Place due to a crash!! This is a great way to brush up your skills before taking to the Sky's with your real RC Plane.

  It may be OK as an RC simulator (except it is not) but it is a total waste in terms of UI/UX design. View modes don't work, menus are scattered all over and you just can't easily find what you are looking for. Realflight is 100 times better than this.

  Aerofly RC8 is a very good RC simulator with superb graphics that runs well on low-end GPUs. The aerodynamics are noticeably better than the previous version (RC7), and the aerobatic aircraft now spin and snap roll realistically. The graphics quality is superb, including the detailed aircraft models and extensive 3D scenery for FPV flying (complete with ripples in the sea). However my favourites are the panoramas, which seamlessly blend foreground 3D objects (including functional windsocks) with background photography, allowing you to fly in front of, or behind (or crash into) nearby objects whilst retaining an incredibly lifelike appearance. And you don't require much in the way of graphics hardware - it consistently achieves over 60 fps on my laptop's puny MX150 graphics card with graphics quality set to High, using Vulkan with high quality anti-aliasing enabled. Although additional models and flying locations are available in DLCs, I appreciate the fact that the base game still has a good selection of arcraft and includes something for everyone. There are basic trainers like the PT40, sport aircraft like the Adrenaline 120, scale aerobats like the SU29S, the Krill Spark pattern plane, jets, gliders, helicopters and quads. There are panoramic, multi-pano and 4D flying sites, including race courses. IPACS hasn't restricted it to only basic aircraft to force you to purchase a DLC, although of course the DLCs will give you a greater selection of aircraft and flying sites (and who doesn't want to fly a nitro Curare?). Multiplayer's a blast. You connect to a server on the Internet, choose a flying session, and then the other aircraft flying in that session are superimposed on your view, along with their sound. The only negative I have noticed is the quadcopter simulation. While it's fine for pottering around with the Mavic, the Vendetta race quad is quite unrealistic. Acceleration is too slow, the camera tilt is zero and and apparently not adjustable, the quad is too stable in aerobatic (rate) mode, it has a weird pendulum motion as though there is a large distance between the props and the C of G, and it tumbles wildly out of control if you pull the throttle right back (presumably because this turns the motors right off, but that's not how race quads are set up). Which is a pity because the 3D scenery would be brilliant for an FPV racing quad. I haven't tried helis or VR, but it's a great sim for fixed wing aircraft, and would be an excellent training aid.

  Sure, it´s a SIM game, but as a RC pilot this is RELY good tool to maintain you stick skill and improve your stick skill without the need to repair you loved RC plane IRL. This is even better than RealFlight 9 / 9.5.

  anyone wanting to fly rc not need to sacrifice model aircraft in order to learn. This sim is the best way to go. I am an avid in cockpit flight simmer. This is a first for me to try RC. In VR it gives a whole new perspective on how to coordinate flight control surfaces and fly by the stick. Great software and a blast to fly. BTW. Quite a learning curve and getting your brain to think outside the aircraft.

  I would say it's a very good simulator/VR simulator for the price of the base game. I don't know why some say it's on rails cus the models do seem to there own flight characteristics. Airplanes have stalled on me but never received stall spins or snap rolls so not perfect. I have messed with model characteristics to make a plane nose heavy and it worked tho resetting it can be finicky. I wouldn't say this would not replace real-life flying, but it can help gain skill and the amount of aircraft in all DLC's can give you hours of fun (which I did get cause I was bored). You can also play with people online (haven't tried yet). If you want all DLC's don't get it on steam go to there website to get the Aerofly RC 9 update. If it's just the base game just get it here if you have a transmitter and it would just 8 for base game on the website.
